I've actually have been having more mental problems since I've been going. They dont address the actual problems, and the prescriptions they have given me have made me even less functional than I was. Your better off just getting a bottle of tequila and self medicating. This place wont help you.

I cannot stress this enough: Do not come here. Due to staff's mistake, my appointment was cancelled and given to someone else despite confirming the day before. I just got off the phone with a woman who treated me like a child for her error and flat out told me I was lying. I need you to understand that psychiatric and therapy centers are made for people who suffer with mental illnesses that make their daily lives very difficult. If you are unkind, condescending, and incompetent, find a different job. This place is a complete disgrace. Avoid it.

I’ve never written a negative review, but I don’t want people to have to find out the hard way about this place if possible. It is EXTREMELY difficult to get prescriptions refilled here. I have called plenty ahead of time and have been forced to withdrawal from my medication many times, which makes me very physically ill. It is hard to feel cared for at the Abbe Center when you have to call over and over to ask them to get you what you need only to be ignored. If you can help it, please find another place to go for mental health care. You deserve to be taken care of.

For several months now, my pharmacy has faxed my prescription 4-5 times each month. However, my prescriptions are filled after I have already ran out. CEDAR RAPIDS office gets my pharmacy requests and does not respond.

It is a uphill battle to get your medication refilled!! You sometimes have to withdraw from your medication because it can take weeks to get ahold of the doctor to approve of the refill. They will still charge you if you miss an appt. You have to cancel it 3 days ahead of time. So how do you plan when you're going to be sick or an emergency happens. Plus after multiple times missing appts they won't reschedule your appt. Instead will transfer you to voicemail. And who knows when they will reach back to me. I'm fed up with this place that shames you for missing appts instead of encouraging you to continue treatment. Going to go back to my primary doctor for medication instead of this place that just thrives on you withdrawing from your medication..
