I’ve been struggling with my duii case for 3.5 years. I’ve gone to multiple treatment places and all of them were very judgmental, didn’t care about me and my sobriety, only money and getting me out. I am someone who needed time and someone to listen and actually care. I came to addictions northwest hoping it wasn’t gonna be like the others. It wasn’t they all were very kind to me and took the time to help me and keep my head up during troubling times. They gave me a sense of hope and I am so thankful for the help and time they have given me to get myself straight again. Every class is taken seriously with some jokes and stuff to go around. I thank all of them for helping me, not giving up on me and not judging me for all the crazy things I’ve done in my past.

This is the most shady business I have EVER encountered. I have a family member, for the sake of privacy, we will call her "Mary". Mary called me for help, when after several weeks of working with these guys she was told that she had two options for her court ordered DUI treatment. Those options would cost $3,675 or $5,000. Due to them rescheduling her assessment multiple times and the time it would take to complete her treatment, she was backed into a corner and told that she had 3-days to make this payment and "cash or check" was "preferred". If she didn't it would leave her with little to no time, to get her diversion completed, so getting another referral would be near impossible, but they knew that. So Mary calls me for help with the money and I asked to get a call set with Brad and Gary, to discuss these two different package options. Brad showed up to that call and said Gary was unavailable and went on to explain that he had been in a terrible accident a couple month back, after going 110MPH on his motorcycle. I asked Brad to explain to me what these two options included. Brad could not do that. I asked the question 3 times and did not receive a real answer even once. What I did get was a bunch of rambling about his 3 DUIs and that Mary seemed very responsible and he knows she just made a mistake. Brad said that she wouldn't have to do any group sessions, just one on ones with him and Gary and she would have assignments to do at home. When I told Brad for the 3rd time that he was not answering my question, he said he didn't know what to say and Gary would have to call me. He took my name and number on our call a Monday and here we are on a Thursday, the day AFTER they said Mary needed to pay and neither of us have received any communication from them. The reason why, is simple: They were taking advantage of a young single mother of 2 toddlers, because as Brad said, she was probably the most "accountable and responsible" person that they had interacted with in a long time. So Brad knew that she was going to do whatever she could to pay that bill. Luckily it was VERY easy to tell just how shady this business was. Brad was extremely unprofessional, both in the text messages he sent Mary and the call we had. We didn't pay them a cent and we found another business that was professional and accommodating. The treatment program at this other business cost $956 TOTAL. I would recommend that anyone that is unfortunate enough to be referred to Additions NW, insist that they get a referral to ANY other business.

What a wonderful and caring staff. I dealt mostly with Gary. He is wonderful how he talked to me at me and about me. Not some text stuff you get from Phy 101. Very well done in helping me. I have been clean and sober now for sometime. Only because of his and his staff. I have tried many things. But his methods sometimes a bit forcing but not to the way of making me feel bad about myself but to help me to see the big picture. Thank you Gary and all your Staff. You are AWESOME. And a good mentor for the time.

One of the most important things you should know about Gary Patterson is that he has been there done that. He comes from a place of extreme compassion and even more remarkable sincere empathy. There is.zero judgment here. He is genuinely interested in helping you through the process, whatever that looks like for you. He thinks outside the box and successfully tailors your experience to your individual history and needs. I hope more people find their way to Progressive Counseling and Gary in particular. They are upfront about everything, from the first appointment the entire plan and costs were laid out and easy to understand. Every time I paid it was by credit card and it was never more or less than what was stated no matter the method of payment I chose. They kept excellent record of everything and I never felt anything other than safe and positive about the future. I knew from the word go exactly what to expect, Gary is caring and goes above and beyond for each and every person and tries so hard to help those that enter his office. I was very worried about this experience but Gary constantly reassured me I would not have to go to jail that I was doing an excellent job. I was happy to give UA's as I have nothing to hide and was eager to prove that in any way I could. I personally think if you are worried or bothered by UA's you may be trying to hide something It was a rough road dealing with my legal issues and Gary was the first person I met who smoothed that road out and made it seem not just doable but enjoyable and I realized I could stay positive and learn something or be negative and make things harder. With Gary's help I found the positive path and am so happy I did.
