Principles Recovery Center is proud to present the Adolescent Wellness Academy, a program which was expertly crafted by our clinical staff to meet the needs of today’s teens. Our central location in Davie, Fl allows us to easily transport your child from school to treatment. Here, your teen will get the help they need to address issues deriving from substance abuse, mental illness, and accompanying destructive behaviors while not interrupting their academic career. Our 5 step treatment process (more on our treatment services page) allows for us to properly identify symptoms and behavioral issues, diagnose your teen, and treat the core problems. Our mission is intervening early enough that we can effectively prevent a bump in the road from becoming a deadly detour while giving your teen the tools necessary to move on to a successful and healthy life.
The tragedy at Stoneman Douglas highlighted the need to focus on mental health in our communities in South Florida. Unfortunately, our school systems do not have the funding to support that need. Counselor Ratios in our schools dropped 4% last year, bringing the average student to therapist ratio in Florida to 485-1. These daunting numbers have made it IMPOSSIBLE for school counselors to effectively provide the care necessary to improve the mental health of our children. This must change.
Our mission is to provide world-class clinical support to the local private and public school systems in South Florida including Davie, Weston, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Cooper City, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Hallandale, Aventura, Plantation and more! With over 30 years of experience in Adolescent Psychological Health, we take pride in providing a local resource to our community for those struggling with mental illness and substance abuse. Principles’ Adolescent Wellness Academy focuses on core issues that lead to instability in teens lives, while also incorporating the family to ensure a thorough and individualized therapeutic experience.
Our Goal – Early intervention for teens struggling in our communities so that developing issues can be addressed before they turn into lifetime struggles.

Sonia Rincon5 StarI highly recommend them. When you have a difficult situation with your family you feel alone and not knowing what to do. My daughter made bad friends and the nightmare started for everyone. They were various therapists, doctors, psychiatric institutions for two years. Until God put these angels in our path. On my first call his response was "we are going to help you." Gabby returned to her family, I received therapy and I am only grateful to this group of professionals who hugged us with love. Sylvia Auritt5 StarMy child attended there for some time and he did well for the most part. Any issues that came up we addressed directly and they were taken care of. My child struggled with anger, mental health and trauma related issues and he was able to express himself during the group and individual sessions. They also have a parent support group that one of the counselors Mike does. Although I couldn’t attend during the end I def recommend this. The group setting can be intimidating but for the most part I realize it does help a great deal in processing your own stuff that you unknowingly put on your children. The front desk staff and Annie, Frank, Mike and Jen as well as the other therapist are all thoughtful and considerate and I’m forever grateful to them.Monday 10th January 2022
Nancy Arocho5 StarAdolescent Wellness Academy is an excellent, caring, and supportive center for anyone searching for help with their adolescent in need of assistance with mental health issues and substance abuse disorders. In the intensive outpatient program, my daughter learned invaluable life tools to cope with a very difficult time in her life with depression and anxiety. I am so appreciative of all of the kindness and care they showed my daughter. Thank you to Anny, Mike, Rebecca, And Kristen her therapist. You saved us and helped us grow as a family. The group and individual therapy is amazing and so helpful in dealing with so many obstacles. I am grateful and hopeful that my daughter is better equipped to deal with many challenges and heartache life can bring. There aren’t many places in South Florida just for young adults and teens and after much researching this place was a wonderful safe haven. I highly recommend Adolescent Wellness Academy to any parent suffering with their child. I will never forget what they did for us.Thursday 13th January 2022

Frank Duris2 StarSupposedly they were equipped to be able to help children with varying issues from drug abuse to different disabilities. This was not the case. They are good at what most of their clientele are there for and that's teen drug abuse. If this isn't the case, don't expect much specialized help.
Communication only happened because I had to call the director multiple times. Granted he is a great guy, but the therapists left much to be desired. Group therapy isn't for everybody. Let's just leave it at that.Thursday 3rd June 2021
