This facility needs to be reprimanded by the state immediately. I came to visit a family member during lunch time and to my horror, I walked into an unsupervised dining room with residents sitting with cold soup in front of them. Moments later an employee who later identified themselves as an activity aide, walked into the kitchen serving the main course with no gloves or hair net being used. Certified kitchen staff should be hygienically serving my loved one's food! Furthermore, there was only one nurse working two of the three units within the facility. She was frantically going between units to distribute medication. There was no nursing assistant in sight as I sat there waiting at least 45 minutes for my loved one to be changed from a soiled diaper from lunch time. When I finally got a hold of a nursing assistant, they explained to me that they were working alone caring for every person within a single unit. How is that even safe!?! This is absolutely disgusting and illegal. Management of Alden should be ashamed of themselves that they allow these inhumane practices to occur. The astronomical cost of this nursing home is an insult on top of its pathetic quality of care.
