Medication-Assisted Addiction Treatment Services in Kentucky

The professionals at AppleGate Recovery in Crestview Hills, KY, specialize in medication-assisted addiction treatment. We offer medications aimed at treating opioid addiction as well as counseling to guide you toward long-term sobriety.

The medications we offer as part of our Kentucky opioid addiction treatment can help clients reduce their cravings for opioids, limit unpleasant withdrawal symptoms and lessen the risk of an overdose. Options include the following.

1. Buprenorphine

Buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist approved by the FDA to combat opioid addiction. While it’s an opioid itself, it can block cravings for stronger opioids by attaching to your brain’s opioid receptors. Buprenorphine given in low doses activates these receptors while preventing stronger opioids from taking full effect. Then, you can discontinue your opioid use without the painful withdrawal symptoms you might typically experience.

2. Suboxone®

Although buprenorphine by itself is difficult to overdose on, it’s essential to administer it correctly to avoid misuse. The medication Suboxone® lessens this risk of abuse by combining buprenorphine with naloxone.

Naloxone is an opiate antagonist, which means it attaches to the brain’s opioid receptors and blocks them from becoming activated. Adding naloxone decreases the risk of medication abuse even further since it will cause immediate unpleasant withdrawal symptoms if the user tries to abuse it via injection.

My husband showed up for an appointment on Monday January 17th and upon arrival was told the doctor didn’t come in today and was subsequently asked to come in the next day, Tuesday January 18th. He, again, showed up for his appointment this time was informed by the receptionist that because of the missed appointment, THAT HE SHOWED UP FOR, he now would have to be moved to the end of the waiting list. He showed up for both appointments on time and now he is being moved to the end of the waiting list because the doctor didn’t show up. First of all it’s very unprofessional that the receptionist didn’t even have the courtesy to call and cancel the appointment and instead waited for him to show up before informing him the doctor wasn’t in and his appointment was canceled, but the thing that’s just beyond rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable was when she asked him to come in for a second time just so she could tell him that he had to move to the back of the waiting list for a missed appointment, THAT HE SHOWED UP FOR! He showed up on time to 2 appointments now and he’s being moved to the back of the waiting list because the doctor didn’t bother to come in. The receptionists attitude and the manner she communicated this to him was very dismissive and unsympathetic, and absolutely unprofessional. My husband is now looking for a different doctor, that will be professional and treat him with dignity and respect. This whole experience could be very damaging to someone in the fragile process of recovery, and I sincerely hope it gets corrected. It’s a shame that my husband was there seeking help and he was treated so rudely and ultimately punished for the doctors choices. Unacceptable!!!!!!!! Do better!!!!

This use to be a great place when Dr.park was alive. He died 2 months ago and since has been down hill. They keep you there hours after your appointment time waiting to be seen. It use to be totally different. The doctor now puts Dr.park down every visit since. Which has been 2, today would have made 3. But i didnt go because I took covid test and tested positive and was told, it did not matter come any ways or no medication. This blew me away, Also found out the whole time my insurance was excepted when they said it was not. Ive paid out of pocket this year right at 4000 dollars.....it is now 2 months later I've returned to this office. I switched doctors and she us absolutely the best person ever. And since returning they are in the process of returning my money. And the ones that were there causing this problem is no longer there. So once I recieve my money I will let you know to see if it actually comes through.
