Medication-Assisted Treatment with Methadone in St. Albans

Though patients are required to visit the methadone clinic daily for their dosages, they may eventually earn the privilege to take home their medication for weekly and even monthly self-dispensing. The length of methadone treatment varies from patient to patient as some may require treatments from months or years depending on their progress. This means of addressing an opioid use disorder is much more effective in patients than others and has a higher success rate of patients managing long-term recovery.

In the 1960s, doctors first used the methadone to treat opioid dependenceand withdrawal side-effects successfully. Since then, methadone and buprenorphine (Suboxone®) have become the safest and most effective FDA-approved opioid addiction treatment options available. Methadone is what is called a full agonist opioid which means that the effects of the drug are present enough to help people who are regularly taking high doses of illicit or prescription opioids. It also greatly reduces withdrawal symptoms for 24 to 36 hours per treatment. Despite common misconceptions, methadone isn’t a medication that replaces a drug addiction. It works by gradually reducing the body’s dosage tolerance until the patient can discontinue the medication.

Services Include

Drug Counseling Program with MAT

To help someone overcome their substance use disorder it is recommended that they receive comprehensive services, including mental and behavioral health support. While MAT addresses the physical effects of addiction and withdrawal, significantly reducing withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and urges, individual counseling and possibly group counseling should be involved as well. Empathetic and experienced counselors at BAART facilities are able to speak with patients about past traumas or underlying mental health issues that may be co-occurring with their addiction. There is strong evidence that links mental health and addiction, as they tend to often go hand-in-hand. With the counseling available at our facilities, patients are given individualized and customized care to help ensure their medication-assisted treatment program is as healing as possible.

Why Choose BAART?

Wow, I was reading the very few reviews. Rules are rules..You get the leaflet/package when you first start the Process at Baart. You can travel, visit family in a different state which I have done many a time. There are proper channels you must go thru to get approved. You first talk to your immediate assigned Counselor. Then they review your record/UA's,Attendance..If I am not mistaken Dr. Brooklyn has the final OK. Then no problem. I am 100% Positive YOU DO NOT GET CALL BACKS when You do the Proper steps which are clearly outlined in the Agreement You/We signed from the beginning. I have been with Baart since 2015 transferred to St. Albans in 2017, I have a 100% perfect clean record/file. You/I do not get special treatment because of this. Yes it counts for alot. But rules are rules you want to be away even for 2 days and went thru the correct process YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET A CALL BACK (Guaranteed))) So all you people that cry and try and lay blame on the Awesome Counselors at St. Albans Clinic need to get a grip. It is quite a simple process.. This Program has saved my Life PERIOD... I travel wherever and when ever I need to,,,,but The rules require at least 2 weeks if I remember correctly.... before said trip to dot all the I's and cross all the T's..to get your doses approved and ready to travel with you.....I mean come on to complain about this is a totally ridiculous waste of every ones time..I laugh to myself when I see supposed grown adults act like they are in Grade School...But it's all good their are many people on a waiting list to take your place that will be thankful as I am for getting this chance to Live and Fly right...No Cry Babies Needed, lol, lol......

My road with a batty is bittersweet. I have been a client with them for a couple years now I have almost a perfect record with them. I recently had some issues that are concerning and I feel there is a moral and ethical adjustment that needs to be made in Saint Albans Barts compass. Being in the program has allowed me to live a better life but unfortunately I can’t even go camping with this new better life and not pay for it after being a great idle patient. I had recently gotten a seasonal camper in Kampersville which has absolutely no cell service. So I took the time to go down to have consolidated hook my phone up the two days while I was down there taking care of business I get a callback from Bart it is in the policy that we be able to be contacted at all times so while doing this I get a call back completely completely innocent. You would think that a perfect client with no issues at all. Would be excused for such a simple and understanding situation. I feel like somebody at the office has something to flex about I’m not sure but shame on them shame shame shame on them I can’t take my little boy camping for two weeks through our vacation because I have to come back every day please Lord. Shame shame shame
