Outpatient Physical Therapy Services

Physical therapists evaluate patients to identify areas of dysfunction. Then, they create a plan of care to address the areas of dysfunction using strengthening exercises and other modalities including manual manipulation. The goal of physical therapy is to reduce pain and to increase function and mobility.

Occupational therapy helps patients to safely perform the activities of daily living such as dressing, feeding and personal hygiene. Occupational therapists also help patients who are experiencing cognitive problems after concussion, stroke, brain injury or other neurological disorder.

Post Concussion treatment

Most concussions resolve on their own in a few days. In contrast, when symptoms linger, there are therapies to reduce dizziness, regain balance, and to improve attention span.

Vestibular therapy

Vestibular therapy helps to improve balance and visual coordination.

Kinesiotaping

Kinesiotaping is useful in providing support, pain management, edema management and for positioning.

Arthritis/Rheumatoid Arthritis

Treatments for arthritis include modalities (heat, cold, electric stim) to reduce inflammation, and exercises to increase mobility.

Auto Injuries

The goal of therapy after auto injuries is to manage pain and restore normal function through exercise, strengthening, manual therapy, and instrument aided manipulation.

Balance

Patients are evaluated to identify underlying cause and treated accordingly. They are analysed for balance deficits and given proprioceptive and strength building exercises.

Bell’s Palsy

Bell’s palsy  can occur at any age. The exact cause is unknown. It may be caused by inflammation of the nerve that controls the muscles on one side of the face or by a reaction after a viral infection. The symptoms of Bell’s palsy include sudden weakness that makes half of the face droop. In most cases this weakness is temporary, but it can be a great source of anxiety. To help speed up the recovery process, many people choose to do physical therapy for Bell’s palsy

Gait/Walking

Individuals with gait problems are evaluated for balance deficits and offered exercise to improve form and walking pattern.

Hip and Knee Replacements

The goal of therapy after hip and knee replacement is to reduce pain, restore mobility and function and return safely to the activities of daily living.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization is a technique used to break up scar tissue and increase circulation. It is performed using small rigid instruments to allow the therapist to better manipulate soft tissue.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is hands-on therapy to mobilize joints and soft tissue and restore proper alignment.

Meniscus

Therapy for people recovering from meniscus tear provides pain relief, edema management to maximize mobility.

MS

Therapy for people with MS includes pain management and learning energy conservation. There will also be emphasis on transfer training and identifying adaptive equipment.

Neck and Back Pain

Treatment for neck and back pain is focused on reducing muscle spasms, promoting proper alignment and posture and strengthening exercises.

Neurological disorders

Treatment for neurological disorders is aimed to improve proprioceptive neruo-muscular facilitation, in other words to improve balance, coordination and gait.

Pain

Physical therapy is an excellent way to address pain. It is non-invasive, and may offer immediate results, as well as continued improvement over time. Using manual therapy, electric stim, strengthening exercises, instrument assisted gait training and education on body mechanics.

Parkinson’s Disease

Parkinson’s patients undergo a postural assessment leading to balance and gait training.

Repetitive Motion Injuries

Treatment begins with a biomechanical assessment to address limitations. Next steps include activity modification and strengthening exercises.

Rotator Cuff

Bacharach offers pre- and post-operative therapeutic exercises to increase range of motion, decrease pain, and increase strength.

Runners

Running injuries might include shin splints, meniscal tears, sprains, strains and poor body mechanics, Physical therapy for runners would address increasing strength and reducing pain, as well as correcting improper ankle and foot alignment.

Sports Medicine

Bacharach therapist will examine and evaluate the injured athlete to develop an injury specific plan of care. Therapies are designed to improve mobility and range of motion, and reduce pain.

Sprains and Strains

Sprains and strains are among the most common soft tissue injuries. Treatments address reducing swelling and pain, and increasing strength and range of motion.

Stroke/CVA

Stroke patients are evaluated for gait and balance issues. Therapies are designed to improve strength, balance and function.

The job as a physical therapist has to be such a tough line to walk. Friendly yet pushing you to your limits is not easy. Nancy (and everyone I have met at Bacharach by the way) do just that. It’s a great place to go and I feel fortunate to have Nancy to help me get back to 100% after knee replacement.

Never having needed physical therapy, I was a bit skeptical regarding the progression I'd make versus what I could accomplish on my own at home. FORGET THAT!. There's no way I could match the knowledge, effort, and improvement I'm receiving from my therapist Nancy. Throw in a nice sense of humor...and my time there is enjoyable each visit.
