Today I am thankful for Brian Wolff of Hood River Counseling. When I met Brian, I was a scared kid who didn't know how to go on anymore and was ready to end my life. I called a local crisis line and they told me they had someone who could speak to me. I met him for the first time and within the hour, he helped me realize that my life was complicated and difficult; not because I was crazy or broken, but because human beings are hardwired for struggle. He stayed with me during my toughest trials and continually reinforced the idea that I was worthy and intelligent. Brian believed in me when I hated myself and smiled with me when I found redemption through self-actualization and values. His influence has been a huge factor in my education and career trajectory and I wouldn't have reached this point and this level of confidence without him. I miss seeing him every month, but I'm confident that I'll remain a good dude by just remembering the wisdom and knowledge that he passed on to me. Thank you for everything Brian. I hope to see you again!
