dangerincarlisle5 StarI spent 20 days here as an "observer" at my 95 year-old mother's bedside as she was recovering from a hip fracture.
The receptionists make a great first impression.
The directors and managers came as a team to our room and introduced themselves a day or two after we arrived. They were very responsive the several times we contacted them for specific needs and often stopped by on their own to inquire about our stay or just to say hello.
Notwithstanding a fairly full house of patients and residents, the nursing staff and aides were professional, responsive, attentive, caring, and friendly.
The physical therapists had her up and walking on her own before our 20-day stay was over. The occupational and speech therapists had her prepared for every-day tasks.on her return home and shared exercises, knowledge, and instruction on how we (my sister and I) could help at home.
Although I didn't eat while I was there, there was a nice variety of main courses and side dishes for lunch and dinner. The dining room was clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. When the head dietitian overheard a minor complaint about the lack of variety at breakfast, she inquired about personal preferences and promised they would be delivered.
There were events in the activity room most afternoons and evenings--movies, trivia, speakers, bingo, musicians, animal videos, crafts, etc. They were so much fun I almost hated to see the 20 days end!
My only complaint throughout our stay was that one staff member and one resident referred to my mother as my "wife." But I attribute that to the mask I wore daily. (Or to the rehab having her looking so youthful!)
To summarize...when my hip breaks, I know where I'm going!Friday 1st April 2022
Kurt Hickman5 StarMy mom had to spend time after a hospital stay at Carriage Hill for physical therapy and occupational therapy to regain her mobility. Naturally, she wanted to get back to her apartment as soon as possible, but Carriage Hill made her stay as pleasant as possible. The staff was professional, the facilities were clean and they took good care of her there and I felt comfortable. The front desk is welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to Trish Stenger, the director of social services, for all of her extra help and responsiveness.Thursday 17th February 2022
Linda Noakes5 StarI was in Carriage Hill Health Rehab for six weeks for a total knee replacement. During that time I saw and experienced how dedicated and caring the staff and the therapist were. They are truly determined to give the patients in their care the best care and training possible. But of coarse their focus is on the best recovery that the patient is willing to work with them to get. They are patient, caring, dedicated and focused to giving the best care to get the patient to get to the goal for release to either home or living facility. This is my second visit there and I was not disappointed in the quality of care. I totally enjoyed my stay even with the recovery pain. I would totally recommend choosing this rehabilitation facility and I would chose it again if I need to.Tuesday 19th October 2021
Pamela Smith5 StarThis place is amazing, they literally gave me my father back after a devastating fall. The nurses, rehab specialists and the CNAs were more than I ever could have hoped. I never felt insecure about leaving him, I knew he was in good hands. On a side note, their communication with family is fantastic!! I wish I could give them 10 stars. Literally, the best!Tuesday 28th December 2021
ashley blount5 StarI started working in housekeeping at carriage hill 5 years ago. Within that time, I decided to leave housekeeping and go into the activity department. Carriage hill took me as a seed, that needed growing. They have invested so much time and education in me that no other job has. I no longer just have a job but I can proudly say I have a career. With me being from another state, I dont get to see my family. So I have adopted the staff and residents as my family. And carriage hill resident/staff has met my family too. At the end of the day, I cant picture myself anywhere else but at the "hill".Wednesday 21st July 2021
