First (and hopefully my last) experience in a treatment center. I was a sloshed-out, psychotic, sobbing mess of a human when admitted. The staff, nurses, therapists were very supportive and patient with me. I'm beyond grateful for their tolerance and how well they put up with me. I may have arrived at a lucky time, but I made strong bonds with many residents in recovery. I can't speak for everyone's afflictions but as someone recovering from Alcoholism- it made a huge difference to be around a group of people experiencing the agony of addiction. Many fond memories and experiences I will never forget. It took me a few days to adapt but after getting used to a routine it turned to out to be fun. I started looking forward to the next day and enjoying the people I became friends with. I felt being light-hearted, using humor and not taking things too seriously made things more enjoyable. I actually felt kinda sad to leave, and I miss those people The day I left, got home and settled back in the 'normal' world; I went to the grocery store. I looked down the liquor aisle and I actually felt sick. So I think that's a good sign for now- I'm not feeling the immediate 'urge' to drink. I didn't think I could ever get to this state and I give enormous credit to the Gilmore center for helping me.

Very unprofessional. Wake you up in detox by shining lights in youre eyes . Most staff seemed liked they cared . Except for the night shift . Then they all laughed about it together. While people are putting there sobriety at risk. And they think its fun and games. The management needs to review cameras. Get there satfff tightened up . They showed me somones else's paperwork on 2 diff occasions. Mixing people up. Not very confidential

The in patient was great. The family and friends meetings onTuesday nights was great The discharge program is not good. My daughter was referred to a safe, sober living place that was supposed to be all women. It was $600.00 a month and was supposed to include three hot meals a day with a live in woman in attendance. The lady running the house and collecting the cash does not even liven there. No supervision at all. My daughter stayed two nights and three days and got one subway sub and one chili dog. It was not all women. It was a glorified drug house. Something like dropping off your pet chicken with Colonel Sanders! Never got any refund. It is a house on W. Ransom street which is not registered as anything but a single family dwelling. Left messages with the referring social worker to try to find out how she found out about this place but never got a call back. Called the Medical Directors office and got his nurse/assistant who was very rude and never called me back as promised. A rehabilitation program can only work if it is is run properly.
