During your program, you will be involved with other like-minded students who are also searching for freedom from addiction. During your classes and work therapy, you will be able to discuss Biblical and spiritual growth and become more involved with individuals growing in faith.
During our work therapy program, students can develop a healthy work ethic, can learn job training skills, and can apply lessons learned in course work. In a supervised environment, students can work and find purpose, addressing some of the issues that might prevent them from maintaining employment after they graduate the program.
Throughout our program, students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Christ-centered activities. We believe the Word of God is the wellspring of life, so we have a thoroughly developed Bible-based curriculum that will help you live a life free from addiction. Through sermons, Bible studies, prayer, and spiritual retreats, we strive to create an environment that promotes spiritual growth.
About Freedom House Adult & Teen Challenge
The biggest difference between Adult & Teen Challenge and a traditional recovery center is our focus on Jesus. We do not simply focus on the symptoms of addiction, but we work our way to the root of the issue. Our programs depend on the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s word to provide our students with a guiding light. Treatment is important, but transformation is key.
Most of our programs last an average of 12-18 months. This timeframe provides ample opportunity for adults and teens to confront their destructive choices, their self-sabotaging behavior, and their unhealthy views. It then gives them a safe place to establish a new “normal”— assured of the love of God and under the guidance of Biblical principles. During this time, the student will be able to develop routines and behaviors that will lead to good choices and an abundant life.
Through our Bible-based curriculum, students learn how to apply God’s Word to their lives. An onsite teacher will lead the student through various topics surrounding addiction and life-controlling issues. They also learn to recognize the Holy Spirit’s work in their lives, invite God to help them overcome their life-controlling problems, and become more like Christ.

Julie Meyer5 StarI came into the program March of 2018, prideful and extremely frustrated at the fact that I was back in Teenchallenge. I was sick of the constant cycle of relapse though, and wanted to change for good. So I made myself stay and stick it out, and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. But the leaders know what they are doing and they implement the rules for our safety and potential growth. If you come in this program you have an opportunity to truly change your life for good and to be a whole and happy person who is not just waiting for the next fall out. I completed the program in March of 2019 and stayed on as an intern and part time staff. Now I am back home in Texas with my family and I am a more responsible and stable person because of this program and the work God did in my life through it! Many of the staff have successfully completed the program and have stayed on to help others. Ladies who are looking for help-this is a great place to find it. NO, it is not always easy, but those who GO THROUGH THE PROCESS of changing their lives, WILL come out of the program with a hope and a future! Just look at the staff of Freedom House and ask them their story. They are joyful people full of compassion for ladies who are where they once were. Teri Richards5 StarGirls get so used in this world so lost. I've seen it and experienced it with myself and daughter.. God's word changed my life years ago and I knew it would my daughter's.. when we were introduced to Freedom House Adult and Teen Challenge for years I prayed my daughter would be put in that program one way or another.. I just needed her life saved.. God opened doors and she decided she needed change and she choose to begin the program on her own. It wasn't an easy choice the devil beat her down daily trying to keep her away cause he knew God's word would change her.. Yesterday my daughter told us Jesus was her best friend and she didn't know how anyone could live without him. I knew she meant no one could have peace without him.. She's still my Heather Na witty and funny.. she so gets that from me..🤸.. But now she's kind, thoughtful, gracious, loving and forgiving.. those are just a few of the great qualities she now has.. She has learned boundaries and how to set them.. She smiles and laughs and says things that encourages us.. She tells us of Gods word and how to apply it to our life. She inspires us to walk closer with our heavenly father.. She's this amazing wonderful young lady that I am so proud of. I know God is wonderful and cares.. Heard our prayers and through Freedom house he has answered them.. The program is not easy because change is not easy.. If you have a loved one that needs peace, direction, boundaries deliverance and to know what real love feels like consider this program.. It's for anyone that is hurting, lost and that feels out of control and just wants to be loved..
