So I will be posting as many reviews allowed, I was in the adolescent program., and today I found out they never gave me my FSA, which is required to graduate. I never dropped out so no need for a GED, just regular schooling. Although I have remained sober I do not give credit to gateway in general, it’s the mere fact that I was confined in a room with 9 other girls barely going outside. I had to see my dead god mother’s body in a casket through a zoom call because they would not let me attend her funeral. That was my rock bottom that motivated me to get sober. Not gateway. The staff i adolescent does not care about us as people, particularly the higher ups. The staff there that did care was made liver and miss M as well as miss vonceile. Everyone else made us feel less than.

Did a bid in the youth center when I was 17. 21 now. Definitely ghetto and full of delinquents who are there for court and don't want to be sober. Kids who sadly will reoffend or continue to use. I wish it was more AA based, more rehabilitation involved. On a paper posted near the boys bathroom it's labeled as a detention facility. Educate these kids better! They need to know how to recover. They need to be able to analyze their life by searching deep within, to why they act certain ways, why they do drugs, why they feel alone or feel inadequate. Instill in them the importance of getting clean, getting a career, and new friends. When I was 17 I was smart, I new I was an addict. After about another couple years I got clean . After graduating to IV heroin. These children deserve better. They are the future.
