When you become a part of our community, you realize that our goal has always been simple. Promote a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment so that you or your loved one can begin to heal and grow. Our long-established, private, and highly-secure campus enables us to push these focuses even further — and with a much greater rate of sustainable success. Genesis House has offered proven drug and alcohol detox programs to the people of Lake Worth, FL since 1992. These courses aid in clearing a person’s mind and body of addictive substances. It is also extremely important to participate in a medical detox program prior to receiving any other form of professional addiction treatment. After all, attempting to detox alone is highly dangerous. It can be very complicated (if not impossible) for individuals to learn and retain the information and skills necessary to truly maintain long-term recovery on their own. The detoxification process ranges in severity and length of time depending on several factors. Those factors include what types of substances are being abused, the client’s physical and mental health history, as well as the length of time the substance has been used. Residential treatment programs are best suited for people with severe addictions who are looking to put an end to substance abuse. At Genesis House, we offer premier residential addiction treatment in Lake Worth, Florida for those who are ready to start anew. Dual Diagnosis (sometimes referred to as Co-Occuring Disorders) is a term used when a person experiences both a substance use disorder and mental illness simultaneously. Either disorder can develop first and millions of Americans experience some form of Dual Diagnosis every year. The term Co-Occurring disorder replaces the terms Dual disorder and Dual Diagnosis when referring to an individual who has a co-existing mental illness and a substance-use disorder. While commonly used to refer to the combination of substance-use and mental disorders, the term also refers to other combinations of disorders, such as mental disorders and intellectual disability. As part of a comprehensive aftercare plan, the client and his or her primary therapist will complete a written continued care plan which explains plans for continuum of care, outpatient therapy, meetings, sponsorship, home group, employment plans, psychiatric medication management plans (if applicable), and living arrangements. Genesis House has been providing quality substance abuse treatment programs and premier mental health treatment for almost 30 years in South Florida. There are several different available treatments, therapies, and methods that cater to the needs of each individual seeking recovery from addiction. Our clinical staff at Genesis House is dedicated to excellence and has helped countless people recover from drug addiction and alcoholism. Our South Florida substance abuse treatment programs cultivate healing for each client while equipping them with the necessary tools to maintain long-term sobriety.

I was in Genesis House for 49 days. It was such a therapeutic and supportive treatment facility. I did hard work. I put down the alcohol and really dove into examining myself and how to fix my addictive behavior. All the therapists and tech are fantastic. There was always someone there to make me know I was not alone. They also provided some activities to have fun. I didn't stop drinking to be dull and boring. This was a good mix of recovery and relaxation. We have recovery meeting every night. My favorite was the virtual alumni meeting. This is where I realized the Genesis House and the Friends of Recovery wasn't a run of the mill meeting. It welcomes people who are recovering from all types of addictions. As a patient, I was able to learn from other like minded addicts that had different lengths of time in recovery. I could tell the people were caring, trusting, supportive, loving and were living lives, one day at a time, in recovery. When I was released and home, I continued to attend the twice daily recovery meeting sponsored by the Genesis House and Friends in Recovery. I wasn't disappointed. These are the best meetings I ever participated in. Now with 6 months clean, I get work my recovery with a fellowship that embraces me with love and support. What I need changes everyday. But through the Genesis House and Friends in Recovery, my needs are met every single day. Thank you so much. I can never truly express my gratitude. Sandra S.

I was at Genesis house in January of 2021 and I will say as a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician and someone going to school for my counseling degree, this place is not a good place to go. I was doing very well in the program and they discharged me and left me outside on the sidewalk by myself with no help of going anywhere or figuring anything out also with being thousands of miles away from home. Natasha the therapist, Kim in the office, The other therapist were absolutely horrible. They wrote notes about me because I am bisexual and my friend that passed away a couple days after she was released lying and saying we were doing inappropriate acts when we were not. Arlene the tech was pushy and instead of helping she would talk horrible about the clients to other clients. I am a working professional in Treatment and Duel Diagnosis Substance Abuse and this place I would NEVER recommend to anyone. They broke HIPPA and confidentiality multiple times and said things that were completely out of line. They could be a good place if they had good workers that truly cared about their clients which some techs did truly care. The ones that did care only worked for 2 days. I’ve been and worked at plenty of Treatment Centers for Duel Diagnosis and Substance Abuse and I’ve never seen a place leave anyone on the sidewalk that isn’t from that state.

Genesis house set me up for recovery! There is support before, during and after treatment. Includes 2 meetings on zoom a day after Discharge. Those meetings have become my family. I’d 100% recommend GH.

This place is a scam. I signed a 30 day contract and told them I was only to stay 30 days and my father who had CASH PAID for me to go had promised me they would prorate my stay and give my father the money back. After several attempts to see my out date, they brushed me off then told me I was to stay 45 days when I signed a 30 day contract. Anyways the place was a joke they gave u 10 dollars a day for food that you had to prepare yourself, the groups were horrible and extremely repetitive, and staff were there for a paycheck. The doctor was extremely arrogant and did nothing to try to help your case. I saw several people taken to er because they did not get the right amount or enough detox medications. Rules were changed during my stay that were not practiced with other groups. Many people I met during my stay relapsed quickly after leaving and one person I was close with died the day after they left. Please, if you know someone is struggling with addiction do not send them to the genesis house.
