TREATMENT OPTIONS:

Methadone Maintenance Treatment

Health Care Resource Centers like HCRC Newington specialize in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with methadone. MAT involves medicine and counseling to help you recover from opioid use disorder. Methadone has more than 50 years of demonstrated effectiveness as a core treatment for opioid addiction. It decreases your withdrawal symptoms and the effects of other opioids to reduce cravings that commonly cause people to relapse.

Individual Therapy

During your one-on-one counseling appointments, your addiction treatment counselor will work with you to develop recovery skills. You will explore the underlying traumas and symptoms that may have contributed to your addiction and reframe your thinking about them. Everyone has unique goals in individual therapy related to coping skills, relationships and skills for daily living. Your counselor will assist with prioritizing these goals and adjusting them as you progress.

Group Counseling

Group therapy sessions offer the opportunity to connect patients who have similar experiences with one another. You can share updates in your recovery and support one another as you move toward opioid-free lives. These meetings will let you build a support system of fellow patients who want each other to succeed. They also promote a safe environment where you can share recovery strategies.

Referrals to Community Resources

Many patients can benefit from additional assistance to improve their quality of life that may not be provided through our program. For instance, there may be issues with housing, food or physical health that community organizations can address. As part of our mission to help patients with all aspects of addiction, we partner with the community so patients can access necessary resources. We also refer patients to medical and mental health facilities for health solutions outside our expertise.

Relapse Prevention

We center our services on reducing a patient’s risk of relapse. Your care professionals will coordinate your treatment to help you stay committed to recovery. They assist patients in remission and relapse with addressing their symptoms to live healthier lives.

Guest Medication Services for Visitors

Patients who need temporary guest dosing in Newington can request our guest medication services with some pre-planning. Sarah Nielsen, the director, has discriminated against many in her time there since Baymark took over. I have several times asked for explanations as to why I was being treated the way I was and never received any answers. They won’t release my records to me even though they are only allowed to withhold the counseling I was present for by HIPPA law. All of the counselors, except for one company sheep, are now gone. I was told by two different counselors that my case was the reason my counselor quit. Sarah Nielsen thought it would be in my best interest to leave the clinic and go somewhere else when I was at 6 mgs, going down 3 mgs a week. I was two weeks away from being successfully discharged and she advocated for me to be kicked out. It didn’t happen, thankfully, but she doesn’t care about your mental health or abuse issues. She’s power hungry and cares about the $$$ IMO

This place has no compassion or empathy for people that need help. You can call and call and call this place, and they'll never follow through with their word. They'll never give you a call back when they're supposed to. They don't follow through with their word. This place makes getting help extremely hard, with a terribly bureaucratic system that is meant to discourage people from seeking help. This is not a good place for someone who would like to get better.
