I'm a college educated person. I've seen both sides of clinics like this and this is by and large one of the worst. If you need to sit in a group and cry about how you don't get out and the price of milk went up, this would be fine. Otherwise I hope you find a better place than this. If you have any real life problems, major depression or mood issues, or anything to talk about that wouldn't get a PG-13 to G rating. Go else where. They will only tell you to take more walks, and do arts and crafts, which while very nice is incredibly ignorant to believe that's what's going to cure a mental illness. I literally watched someone complain week after week about an abusive relationship and heard all clinicians respond to that with things like "try mindful meditation...can you go for more walks..." Literally! This person was crying and struggling with major depression and abuse and that's the response. Sickening. That's not even the worst of it. All of your info will be available to everyone in the office including secretaries and other clients who just happen to be listening or near the front desk. That's still not even the worst. I just don't have any time left to go on.

I came out of yale psych and straight to iop at griffin . Without the program i would have spiraled down further . It was better than being left on my own . I feel like there is more they can offer but would need more staff . For what they have and do offer it got me through a rough time AFTER i was treated by an inpatient hospital setting . In response to the other reviews i just want to say that yes if i came there to griffin iop without having been to yale or somewhere of the like I would probably feel the same as they do . Its not really for that stuff . If its that bad you gotta go in patient and the abuse gotta go to the proper place . Iop is really a post care thing in my opinion . They are not staffed for one on one very often . It IS a group setting mainly so be prepared . You get out what you put in also . I had a good experience here and i want to thank them all . I was in the mental health group . It helped me along tremendously . So long as I did the work at home . Its not gonna work for every situation . But its great for what it is .

This place did nothing for me except make me worse, and ended up in the hospital. I am in another program now, and it is like night and day.
