Terrible service. If I could give this place a 0, I would. Patient who had a stroke arrives for subacute rehab. He receives a bed that is not working, and initially is told “oh sorry we can’t do anything about it as the staff to fix it isn’t here”. Keep in mind, he has right sided weakness so needs a bed that can be raised and adjusted. To make matters worse, the nurse call button does not work. It takes multiple phone calls, getting hung up on by staff members many times, before finally getting them to change him to a different room. It gets better. They put the wrong wrist band on him. It belonged to another patient. So the patient was receiving medication that was intended for someone else and not the meds he needed. Supervising nurse is informed and all she says is “yea I cut the band off already” which does not solve the problem that he received the wrong meds and that he did not get the meds he needed. Also, the patient confirmed that the supervising nurse was NOT the nurse who cut off the wrist band, that it was someone else. I’m sorry but how can you NOT verify patient identity before putting on a wrist band and before administering meds. I feel terrible for the patients who are at this facility and have no one to speak on their behalf or are unaware of the unacceptable care going on.

My mom was here for a short period of time, I wish she could have stayed here. They were extremely caring, patient and attentive with her. The social worker Michelle was so helpful and walked me through every step of the way. Balia(ElderGuide Medicaid case manager) was also extremely helpful during the process. My experience with them was excellent !

I’ve been volunteering at Cedar Brook for ten months and not once did I see anyone being treated badly. The staff that I have seen are loving and compassionate to the patients.. these 5 stars go out to the staff as well as the facility that I have witnessed are always Immaculate..

Please do not leave your loved ones here. I can't express how poorly patients are treated by the staff. During my visits I see the nurses/assistants aggressively snatching the elderly patients up from their seats. These patients are mentally ill and on walkers. A friend of mine is under hospice care at JFK Hartwyck and she has lost her ability to feed herself. The nurses place her food under her face and walk away. We go in as often as we can to feed her. Many times she has food all over herself and is really dehydrated. A few patients told us she was not being fed and they were concerned. The nurse threatened to move one of the patients if she kept complaining to us. I personally have witnessed how nasty and rude the staff is here. They are clearly there to only collect a paycheck. They don't sympathize, they don't feel, they don't care. I will not stop at this review and will move forward with a formal complaint to the state. This is unfair treatment, it is unjust and something will be done.
