My daughter was there for about three months with some serious health concerns and was recently transferred because of her improved health. The overall experience was excellent. Every department we came in contact with were professional and personable. From the receptionist , maintenance, housekeeping and others, they all made our stay comfortable. As a retired nurse , I applaud the direct care staff and appreciate their dedication. The facility is well kept environmentally, pleasantly decorated and the floor plan was easily navigated. The administrator is caring and approachable and is highly visible interacting with all staff, patients and relatives. My daughter thrived physically and emotionally because of the care and interaction she received. It was a blessing to have her there. My sincerest thanks and appreciation., Ms.B

I was in this unit for approximately 22 days and I could not have been treated better had I’ve been at home. The staff here enjoys their jobs works together as a family and all three shifts treated me as a member of that family. I saw them treat everybody that I observed that way. The food now that’s some thing else but I’d rather be cared for responsibly and lovingly and worry about what I eat. Thank you staff at Lake Taylor. A specific thanks to the staff on two E..

My grandmother has been at this facility for a week now and it has been nothing but a nightmare for her. She is there recovering from a stroke and has been left ALONE in the day room slipping out of her wheelchair on 2 separate occasions and called us from her cell phone to come help her, once we got there we found out she had been in the chair for 5 hours when she was supposed to be in bed. After asking 5 different nurses and a lady at the front desk (who all but cussed me out) someone came in and got her into bed over an hour later. After we left at 2:30pm no nurses came back to my grandmothers room for the rest of the night and did not serve her dinner. I would love an explanation on why your staff has been treating her and my family with so much disrepect.

My mother was at Lake Taylor for several weeks of Physical Therapy and OT following emergency hip surgery after a fall. The admissions staff was extremely helpful, facilitating her transfer from Sentara Leigh on a Sunday evening while dealing with a snowstorm. The collaboration of the different departments - PT, OT, Nursing, Speech therapy, food services, housekeeping, social services, environmental services, everyone - took what had been looking like a dire situation and turned things around to where she was able to come home last week and start easing into some of her normal routine. It wasn't a perfect stay (Hey, after 2 years of covid impact, what health care setting is?) but no concern went unanswered and the proof is in the results - home in time for 90th birthday and doing well.

My mother is there now and has been there two weeks hopefully she will get out next week. Until then I want to feel when I leave her at night she will be ok and if she needs help or something the staff isn't lazy and outside smoking a cigarette and has a attitude when they do come in her. The lazy witch better be glad I wasn't there when she came in there. I usually do alot before I leave there at night to help out the staff and they appreciate it and I don't mind cause I know the staff is short. To the lazy witch that was mean to my mother if you don't want to work or like where you work then move on.
