I was talking with a friend of mine about helping her find a place for her parents a nursing home to live in and I told her do not take them to Lantern Park. I worked here about four months ago and quit because of how terrible a lot of the staff where to the residents. Half the staff for second shift where great but the other where terrible to the residents. I had a staff member tell me to be mean to the residents, I witness staff cussing infront and at the residents. I witnessed staff degrading the residents and refusing to help them with simple task. I witness staff be mean to the residents. Many residents told me about staff members that they did not like and complained to me and asked if I could get another staff member to take care of them because the one they had was being very mean to them. I would not recommend sending your loved ones here because there is a very good chance that they will get mistreated. The new place that I work at I have had a couple of residents tell me that they just came from Lantern Park. I asked them how they liked it and they said they hated it and that the staff where very rude and mean. So sadly since I have left I don’t think much has changed. Update from a few months ago. I get a lot of patients who come from Lantern Park, NONE of them have had good things to say about this place. Patients tell me that they hate it there, patients tell me that none of the staff there are nice. And recently a patient told me that s CNA there is being investigated by the state. KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Updated on 3/18/22

This place is great they take great care of my dad. They celebrate when the residents come out of isolation due to Covid. He is happy there. They always call me giving updates on all his meds. If he hurts himself they call right away. BEST PLACE ever for your love one.

I was there for a week after breaking my femur in 2009. I realize this is some time ago and things may have changed, but I also have more insight than I did then. Lantern Park is clean, spacious, quiet for the most part and the staff is friendly. The administrator at the time, went out of his way to find a television for me. As I remember, the doors to the outside were open for clients to go outside. When it was mealtime, we were served within 10-15 minutes. I was only 52 at the time and very much an introvert but there were plenty of activities to participate in. Nice large PT area. When the time was approaching for me to go home, one of the physical therapists accompanied a friend and I to my home to be sure the steps, doorways and shower accommodated my walker. Seven years later, my health had deteriorated to the point where I was a patient at the University and was going to require PT and OT before returning home. I was considered a fall risk, so only one nursing home would accept me. It was August and their AC still consisted of window units in each room and were difficult to adjust for the majority of clients who were dependent on wheelchairs or walkers. The flies in the dining area were abundant enough to warrant some of the residents to bring fly swatters to meals with them. Shower rooms were crowded and dirty. PT and OT facilities were limited, but the staff was very good at making the most of what they had, even having me bake a cake to demonstrate my abilities to perform tasks following directions. Sharing of bathrooms too small to get a walker into was the only available facilities, which I believe to be unconscionable. The only thing good about the abominable conditions there, was that it was predicted that I’d need 2-3 weeks there in preparation for going home. I did it in a week. After staying at that place in 2016, I cherish the care and facilities at Lantern Park. Anyone unhappy there, or their family, should see what a really poor facility is like.
