It was check-in day for my older sister. She was not happy with her lunch but I assured her that she arrived after lunch had been served so she was a given a lunch to get her ready for the afternoon. I had asked them if she could get a menu to choose her dinner. She did not have a walker to assist her in getting around. Again I talked to the nurses and the matter was going to be resolved shortly. It is a bit of an adjustment coming from a private room with a full bathroom to a less than adequate toilet basically parked inside an oversized closet. My sister had not used the bathroom yet because she didn't have her walker but I had experienced her neighbor who shares the bathroom at how difficult it was to try and use the toilet. She was in a wheelchair, which was in the toilet closet, the wheelchair jutted into our room and she had a walker in front of her. To make a long story short, the poor woman was too exhausted and never sat on the toilet. My sister is a big person and I'm not sure how she is going to be able to navigate in that small space. Hopefully things improve going going forward.

I have a friend living there and I try to visit at least once a month. I have noticed that her bed is made nicely and her room looks cleaner since management has changed. Also there was no urine Oder. —-keep up the good work. Several months later Dash I have changed my review. My friend is no longer getting the care she should have. They knew longer get her out of bed and put her in a wheelchair. She said her legs are too weak to stand on now.. What does she do to go to the bathroom? They tell her she wears depends she should just go in her Depends. This is definitely regression and I do not believe it’s my friend’s fault. He they moved her to a room on another floor because she did have Covid for a week, but they never moved her back to her own room. As a result, she does not have her own clothing, she does not have TV, and she has no roommate or anyone to talk to her because she is in isolation. I am not family, so I cannot do much about it except write this note. I am not happy with Lareldale Skilled care. If you have someone who is living at Lauraldale, skilled care, Check on your people. that’s all I have to say.

Make sure you don't make your decisions based on the photos from the website. Photos are misleading. Actually tour the facility before ever admitting any of your family. If you still decide to admit them, I would make sure you check on them every day or every other day. Do not just assume that they are fine and being taken care of. The smell is not pleasant as there is carpeting in the main halls, and all kinds of things get spilled on it including urine. Some staff are nice and caring, but there are more who are not. Again, I cannot stress enough to make sure you tour the facility before making up your mind.
