LaurelWood needs to be investigated. They are horrible non caring people and staff. The smell of people urine on the floor, fescis on the floor, high mortality rate, and they will not aswer your calls and comeplely ignore you. Malpractice, male nutrition. Nurses will not answer your calls. Tying people to the bed, nurses not answer the buzzer for patients, cant go to bathroom and leave the patients sitting in their own waste, not taking people for walks, THIS IS MORE LIKE A PRISON. These are part of the circle of DHS Distinctive Human Services who were charged with embezellment. It seems there is no oversight to this center. Lets get together to have this place audited and bring this place to a close and investigated with new staff and management.

They don’t answer the phone and they don’t have an answering machine. The woman on the phone was incredibly rude and told me that the patients are confused. This nursing home needs to be investigated

My grandmother passed away unexpectedly at Laurel Wood Care Center. The care was horrendous and staff cold. We arrived to disorganization to pick up remaining items. Staff sat her belongings in 4 damp cardboard boxes In the drizzling rain next to dumpsters by the loading docks (pictures to confirm). No condolences. No staff to deliver; covid is not an excuse especially not that location. Imagine the sadness and guilt to find such a thing. Their memories held within those items only to be sat by a dumpter. My grandmother was there for only (1.5months) till her passing. My grandmother had trouble eating the facilities food and was never given a diet restructure or change. She continued to lose weight. Assisted Care did not sit by to make sure she ate per request. This is unacceptable and horrid. The inability for Laurel Wood to correct and assist eating tremendously escalated her poor health. We constantly asked for health updates and our primary nurse claimed my grandmother should be moved to hospice for more direct care. (NOT BECAUSE OF AN IMPENDING DEATH) But stated because of covid it may be best to get better on hands care. This is extremely SUSPECT, given the care leading up to her death. Finally and the worst of all. My mom did not receive all items upon my grandmothers passing. A personal and sentimental pillow, blanket were lost, bras, pants. In fact we received 2 OTHER RESIDENTS pieces of clothing (photos of names and items) in the boxes. This action alone highlights the lack of ability and carelessness of the staff. Receiving, items from probable other deceased members. How does that look? Be extremely careful and tread lightly entering your loved ones at Laurel Wood. If you choose this facility then hold every single staff accountable, ask questions, be vigilant, don't feel complacent, press for details, demand high quality. I personally believe in better care, her life would have continued on.
