Marjorie Averill is a Maine based for-profit (S) Corporation founded in 2014 whose primary purpose is to provide mental health treatment to individuals, couples, and families who live in and around Lincoln County.

CEO Marjorie Averill has been helping people with mental illness in Maine for over 20 years. The goal of Marjorie Averill is to provide services that meet the emotional and social needs of diverse populations. The purpose of establishing Marjorie Averill is to provide co-occurring mental health consumers a vital community mental health, behavioral health therapy and substance abuse counseling resource located in the center of Coastal Maine.

Credentials:

Marjorie Averill is a contract provider with the Department of Human Services and Medicare. Marjorie Averill is credentialed with most major insurance companies.

Location:

UA offices are located in Damariscotta. Services will be provided to following counties: Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Cumberland, Knox, Androscoggin and Sagadahoc.

The mission of Marjorie Averill is to welcome, identify, engage and serve individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. Umbrella Mental Health Service programs provide understanding of and approach to substance abuse problems and trauma as they relate to and affect the mental health disorder. Services include professional clinical assessment, psychotherapy, and medication management to children, adolescents and adults in a supportive, confidential environment. Our strengths are in facilitating behavioral change, healing from debilitating experiences and development of healthy life skills/styles. We believe this can be achieved by supporting people in experiencing physical well being, spirituality, self expression and joy in their lives. Services are built upon a foundation of principle that emphasizes that all individuals contribute to society as a whole and have the right to fully participate in determining their own fate.

Marjorie Averill is comprehensive mental health clinic that includes professional clinical assessment, counseling and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults in a supportive, confidential environment. Our strengths are in facilitating behavioral change, healing from debilitating experiences and development of healthy life skills/styles. A Marjorie Averill counselor will work with individuals living with mental stress and mental illnesses that cause them to experience dissatisfaction in their quality of life. This dissatisfaction may range from discomfort to actual debility in all of the human experience of interpersonal comfort, interpersonal relationships/interactions, and/or employment/academic endeavors.

It is anticipated that our clients will become more fully functioning and independent leading more happy and healthy lives.
