This place is a nightmare. My mom was there for about 4-5 weeks until I had her transferred elsewhere. They weren’t so kind to my mother. If I make complaints about the lack of care to Director of nursing, nurses and aides would retaliate on my mother. I had to call up there one night at 10 pm to see why my mom’s bed had no sheets on it, she had sat in the chair all afternoon, evening and night because they wouldn’t put sheets on her bed so she could go to sleep until I made the call. One night they served her two pieces of bread and a slice of tomato for her dinner. The whole time she was there, they wouldn’t give her a shower or help brush her hair. I would be on the phone with her and sometimes they wouldn’t even know it so I was able to hear how they spoke to her but if they knew I was on the phone, they would act nice. There was times where her room wouldn’t be cleaned, trash on the floor for days near the trash can). Items would come up missing from her room. My mom told me that the nurses were mad that I would be calling director of nursing with complaints and that would get them in trouble so they said to her that they would back off on retaliation if I would stop? I thought maybe my mom was making it up so I tested the situation by not calling the office for awhile and they started to treat my mom half way decent so what she told me was true. Be very careful with this place, people hate to do their job and heaven forbid you say anything about it.

We've had our father here for 3 years and the doctors and staff nurses ext have done exlent job I'm proud of all of them

I am very happy with Mattoon rehabilitation and Healthcare my only complaint is they need to check more often on a hospice patient and turn them every 1 to 2 hours and when they say they take care of something not tell a family member it's done when you come to visit ita not so.Butt other wise everything is great

Just worked a short time in laundry/housekeeping and I seen alot . Kitchen staff are amazing and always pleasant . Jade the admin is a very loving and caring woman and expects top notch work and care from her staff . She is on that floor and hands on including most office Personal. Nursing staff is mediocre . I would have to say most nurses and cnas are loving and caring however they are short staffed and a few are lazy. Housekeeping / laundry tries however they seem to have issues with management more worried about bodies to work then the excellence Jade is looking for . Unfortunately drugs are an issue in this facility . You have people on and selling drugs while at work . Would not recommend this facility .

I cannot express how glad I am that I decided to go to Mattoon Rehabilitation and Healthcare for a couple of weeks after my knee revision. The nursing staff, the wonderful food, the whole therapy department, absolutely everyone here has worked so hard for me and with me to reach my recovery goals! Thank you Mattoon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center!
