Menorah House is being taken over by a company called Elevate Care. My experience was like a trial by fire. An exhausting ordeal. Everyday dealing with another issue that was promised to be fixed the day before. There is a tremendous amount of training that has not been provided for the admissions staff, the nursing staff & therapy staff who needed to access the computer program to provide services for the patients. This lack of training caused terrible problems in the distribution of pain medicine for my father. After meeting with a series of professionals, the head nurse, the assistant Director of nursing, the Humana doctor, finally on day four the assistant director of nursing was able to resolve the distribution of the pain medication. The food is in edible, ICE cold. There was never an interview to understand if the patient had any kind of health concern such as diabetes, high blood sugar, issues chewing food, etc. in order to tailor the diet to the patient. They could care less. Even when you list preferred drinks such as juice, it never arrived. When we made a verbal complaint to the director of nursing, she said that we were welcome to bring in our own food. The physical therapists, the occupational therapist, and the speech therapist are the only redeeming factor in this facility. My father made great progress. They provided therapies with true care and concern. It was a shame that we had to track down each therapist to find the status of my dad, how he was progressing etc. This facility does not have Care Coordinator who receives reports from the therapist and communicates progress weekly to the patient & family. Lastly, the social worker communicated to my mother that she was setting up for a home health aide to arrive the day after my father‘s return home, or the following day at the latest. That never happened. No one showed up. There was also a promise that there would be physical therapist who would visit my father to continue to work with him. Turns out you need to see your primary care doctor to have that set up for yourself. My father was a patient and endured this for 4 long weeks. These issues need to be addressed, I would never want anyone to go through this traumatic experience.

Masada Wing is the best! Ida always does a great job of scheduling transport for my dad to go to his monthly appointments to the urologist and is always very attentive. Yolie, I can’t say enough about her. Her professionalism, dedication and compassion is beyond my expectation. She truly is an asset in Menorah. And finally last but not least Francis the CNA is wonderful in taking care of my Dad’s needs. I would definitely recommend Menorah House for their loved ones. Thank you!

My mother was placed at Menorah House for physical therapy after being in the hospital for 8 days. She is 96 years young and needed to get stronger so she could get back on her feet again. The first morning she was there she was hurt by an employee. Her arms had to be bandaged up, an incident report was made and a police report filed. The police came to interview my mother and look at her wounds. I was told by the administrator that the employee was suspended until further notice. I then had a private aid stay with her during the day. That first night my mother called me crying to get her out of there because no one was responding to her calls. I called and spoke to the nurse and she went in to see to her needs. The next night my mother called me at 10:30 with the same complaints and then some. I called, it took 6 minutes for someone to pick up and they connected me wrong. called back and it took 8 minutes for someone to pick up and a man answered. I began to tell him that i had to call back and ring for almost 10 minutes before someone picked up and he was extremely nasty and rude. I had to wait until the next day to talk to someone. I called twice and left messages to talk to an administrator and never got a call back. I went there and ended up speaking to the nurse supervisor and told her what happened. She apologized and said she would talk to this man. I told her I was taking my mother out the next morning and someone will be staying with her over night. I picked her up the next morning. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. It was a horrible experience for my mother and she is still having issues trusting people to take care of her now.

Thank you to everyone at Menorah House for taking good care of my mother. And an extra special thank you to those who go above and beyond to make sure she always has a smile on her face.

The staff were rather polite and helpful. They seemed to be taking good care of our friend, Jenny, and at her age, she'll need all the care she can get.
