My daughter was admitted today voluntarily. We waited 3 hours to get checked in. The admissions coordinator was not that professional and was extremely disorganized during her first step of intake. As a parent of an addict I feel there is such a sense of urgency to get her in the building and make her feel welcome . I am hopeful that this is a lifeline she can use, but on the same note.....still a little guarded. She wants a new clean life.

This place is a very awesome place. Especially for someone who is already detoxed. You have classes basically until 5. You have an AA meeting every night w your gender group. You then on Sundays have an AA meeting as a group "men & women" & the 208 club comes and it's just awesome. There food isn't to to good but it also isn't bad. This is a wonderful place to go! I stayed my whole 28 days and wouldn't trade it for anything !

I'm checking in Monday, I'm a little nervous and excited at the same time. Wish this place had better reviews. What should I expect!?

I have never been to a treatment center with groups that are led by what they call Behavior Clinicians(BC's) which are not legitimate counselors trained in Psychology or group therapy techniques. The BC was unable to recognize the anxiety of the patients, which was created during the discussion groups. Meridian Addictions did not utilize the therapist for groups, just for individual sessions. I find it ridiculous the patient's has to ask for individual sessions with the therapist. Seeing the therapist individually is usually part of treatment. Next, the food was horrible. Aramark is the food service they use for the meals. Aramark would always forget part of the meal. Breakfast on the weekends is a bag containing cereal, a hard sweet roll, one piece of bread, and two small cups of peanut butter. They would give daily snacks, which was a joke. A half of a peanut butter sandwich, or a small bag of popcorn. I don't have enough space to finish telling about Meridian Addiction and Recovery Center. I know they will delete this review. That's fine. I will continue to post about my experience at Meridian Addiction and Recovery Center.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Took my adopted daughter here to get help. She was in a hospital for a 5 day treatment plan and then sent here to finish her treatment. All voluntary bcus she wanted help to get clean. My husband and I took legal custody of her baby while she was in the hospital. I transferred her to Meridian and I brought her baby with bcus she had not seen her in 5 days. Unfortunately, she told one of her drug friends where she was going for treatment. This "friend" called Meridian Addiction(while we were there doing her intake) and stated that the baby was in danger. By law Meridian had to call DCS. I did not have our custody papers with me to prove we had custody(I never thought we would need to have them with us), so they would not let me leave with the baby. My daughter even told them that I had custody and she was fine with us caring for her baby. So we sat in the lobby waiting on DCS. I was informed that since my daughter was now an inpatient there and they had no proof that I had custody, DCS would have to take the baby and place her in a foster home until DCS could prove I had custody. The staff at Meridian called DCS before 5pm but waited to inform me of what was going until after 5pm. This made it very difficult to get in touch with our attorney! They also stated that any paperwork I had from the judge would not be the proof DCS needed bcus it could have been forged. ARE YOU SERIOUS??!! Not only does our paperwork have the judges signature but it also has the county seal stamped on it. You have to have a special tool to stamp legal documents. This tool can't be purchased by the public. When I asked why DCS was called the staff lied to me and stated that when they checked to see if my daughter was in "the system" for drug abuse they couldn't find any info on her. The staff at Meridian didn't want to reveal the real reason why they called DCS. They didn't have to tell me who called them but they should have been honest and told me that they received a report. I had no problem complying with them and I told them that. I asked if my daughter could leave with the baby and they said yes. They told us she would have to sign herself out to do this. Not once did they ask for proof that my daughter was her mother. Not once did they ask for my ID or my daughters ID. They weren't even interested in seeing the court order stating we had custody! My daughter signed herself out and we left. With the baby! So we were left wondering how it wasn't ok for ME to leave with the baby that I had legal custody of but it was ok for my daughter to leave with her in MY car with ME. WEIRD!! After wasting over 5 hrs at this facility we left. DCS never showed up and they never called me to follow up on the call Meridian made. I had to take my daughter back to the hospital that she had been for 5 days. She is still at risk for using drugs and I wasn't about to undo the progress that had been started by bringing home instead of the inpatient center she needed to be in. We drove almost 2hrs to get to Meridian and it was a waste! I didn't get home until after 1am and now we have to start all over in finding another treatment center for my daughter! I spoke to her social worker the following morning and he stated that he has had problems with the staff at Meridian several times. Unfortunately this social worker has no control over where the hospital sends patients for inpatient treatment. I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office as well as complaints against the two social workers that lied to me. This facility is unprofessional! If they are willing to lie about something like this what else would they lie about? BEWARE before you leave your loved one at this facility! Trust is number 1 when dealing with an addict and their treatment. If you can't trust the people caring for your loved one then they shouldn't be there!
