My daughter was slowly killing herself, and none of us understood why, including my daughter. Momenta surrounded her with love and compassion and helped her find the warrior in herself. Dennis, our daughters lead therapist, taught us about trauma, how it effects the brain, and how the brain can heal! He helped our family come to terms with our own trauma in watching our loved one suffer and was even available two years later when I needed him. Our daughter is a success story. Two plus years sober, she has become not just someone we delight in being around, but she reflects back to us the warmth, compassion, and wisdom she was surrounded with during her time at Momenta. Our family is forever grateful.

To any woman who is suffering from substance abuse, addiction and/or trauma— and who has even the slightest bit of willingness to find a solution to ending that suffering, Momenta is the best place to help you find the healing you are searching for. My experience at Momenta was filled with so many answers to questions I didn’t even know I had. The guidance I received from each staff member— from the techs, to the clinical team, to the support staff and the CEO— was all filled with professionalism, compassion, uniqueness, intelligence and love. Not only did Momenta offer us help through one on one therapy and group interaction (such as psychodrama, DBT, relapse prevention and much more) we were also given opportunities to connect with the outdoors, express ourselves artistically, to connect with horses (equine therapy), receive energy work and participate in meditation, breath work and yoga. The list does in fact go on. I can say that with my willingness to heal and the guidance that I was shown, I am now on this beautiful path of long term recovery. Momenta helped me save my life. I would still be in a very dark, isolated, terrifying place had I not reached out to the people at Momenta. Even when the work we were doing got hard—really intense, I knew in my heart of hearts I was exactly where I was meant to be— I was healing. My hard work in my recovery will never end, and it certainly would never have begun without building that crucial foundation at Momenta. I am grateful— so friggin’ grateful!! I finally woke up! I made some amazing life-long friends! And I get to move forward in life being the best Mama that I can be for my two young children. I get to move forward being a much better version of myself— humble, teachable, authentic, curious, adventurous, honest, accepting, compassionate. And I get to live my life fully! No lies here— I’m speaking from the heart.

My daughter was failing to move forward in life due to addiction and emotional control challenges. Momenta came highly recommended from two professionals in the addiction treatment field. While my daughter went voluntarily, from my perspective as parent addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders treatment is a rollercoaster ride. My daughter wavered between wanting treatment and hating treatment because it is hard being away and it is hard being sober. Everyone at Momenta knew my daughter, cared deeply about her treatment and tried extremely hard to walk that fine line between helping her continue to stick with treatment and realizing treatment is not working (because she is fighting it) and avoid wasting everyone's time and money. My daughter got sober and although she left treatment before the important 90 day mark (presumably to get back to her boyfriend), she hopefully is on the right path. Thank you Dirk, Dennis, Amanda, Becky and everyone else at Momenta.

I was lucky enough to come to Momenta in 2019 after many failed attempts at sobriety. As someone who has experienced several treatment centers throughout my addiction, there is no comparison to Momenta. With the love and care that they showed me throughout my time there, in addition to the unparalleled counseling and therapy I was able to receive, I can confidently say that Momenta saved my life. I now have over 2 years clean and sober, and I owe it all to the staff at Momenta Recovery and everything they stand for.

I am 65 years old and was orphaned by age 9. I’ve lived with many people in different places over my life, so I have many different “families.” Over the last 12 years, I have experienced first hand (as an avid and consistent support for those I hold dear) about 12 rehab programs lasting from 30 to 90 days and 5/6 halfway/sober living arrangements. Neither I nor other involved family members have ever experienced the loving, compassionate, science-based program offered at Momenta. To me, the reason Momenta stands out in a crowd include: @A SMALL program and all women. Small enough to truly get to know a clients’ emotional history, explore relationships, and the like. There’s a minimum stay of 3 months. They have time to build trust with the client so that they can work together with effect! They don’t rush the TRUST, and will take the time needed for that foundation. @Momenta includes regular, weekly therapy with significant family members, sometimes 2 or 3 sessions/week including one and then both parents, for eg. The family therapy is carefully planned and executed by skilled clinicians, some of the best I’ve ever worked with. They get down to the real issues…and in a way so as not to overwhelm the client at critical times or during difficult transitions. Never experienced anything like this before! @Momenta IS a family, where staff and clients eat and work and have fun together, as in sharing meals, shopping, etc. Staff don’t just disappear at 5:30 pm. They ARE a family. This stability is part of the trusting environment. @ the skilled clinicians and leadership actually provide the therapies and strategies that they promise. DAILY physical activities such as hiking, skiing, yoga…They contract with a local ranch, for eg., where a skilled equine therapist works with clients. They cook delicious and very nutritious meals. Nutrition is so important. In the past I always looked for a rehab offering what I consider absolute necessities for positive change: Time, critical analysis of the issues, dedicated family and or friends, healthy regular exercise and nutrition to combat stress and anxiety, build confidence. While most every rehab states that they provide these opportunities, it is not true. PERIOD. For example, Even if a rehab has a lot of horses nearby, getting clients TO the horses to be guided by a competent therapist appears to be quite rare. That’s just one example. For the first time in a more than a decade, I can envision my loved one living a life of her own design, with all the mess and joy and sadness, mishaps and successes, adventures, and especially love… that living blesses us with. I’m so grateful for this! Next stop: sober living IOP, with a job, financial planning, continuing therapy. All systems Go!
