Why Choose Addiction Services - Partners in Recovery at Sheppard Pratt?
We use a Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC), which emphasizes whole-person, individualized care and supports patients’ recovery in their own environment.
Using evidence-based guidelines, we customize our efforts to each person, giving them the best chance at recovery. We offer:
Ongoing support
Addiction is a chronic medical condition, not a personal failure. It’s a disease that requires continuous treatment and support.
Our experienced providers offer a range of services to support each patient where they are in their recovery process. These services may include medication management, housing support, and group counseling.
Dual diagnosis services
Evidence shows that many people dealing with addiction also have an underlying mental illness. Our expert providers can diagnose other mental health issues you may be experiencing. People have a better chance of recovering when we treat mental illness in addition to substance abuse or drug addiction.
Access to our network of support
Sheppard Pratt has a history of providing leading-edge mental health treatment. Our patients have access to our wide range of services, including off-site counseling, addiction services, and residential rehabilitation. We can offer an extra layer of treatment and support to help individuals in their recovery.
What to Expect From Partners in Recovery
Recovery from drug addiction and substance abuse goes beyond abstaining from drugs and alcohol. Our goal is to help you build a full, meaningful, and productive life in your community.
Through our Partners in Recovery program, we offer:
Outpatient detoxification
For many patients, detoxification is the first step to recovery from drug addiction. We provide medically supervised outpatient detoxification from opiates, alcohol, benzodiazepines, and barbiturates.
We understand that individuals addicted to opioids experience severe withdrawal symptoms. We can prescribe medication to help ease discomfort. Our medical staff sees you or your loved one daily to engage in intensive outpatient treatment during detoxification.
Ongoing therapy and support
We offer individual, family, and group therapy to help support recovery efforts. Group therapy can help individuals address addiction in a supportive, understanding environment. We also require patients to attend a community program, such as 12-step or self-help meetings, so they can build a sober support system.
Self-help opportunities
We host Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings at our locations to supplement involvement in a self-help program. These weekly support sessions provide you or your loved one with vital accountability while you adjust to sobriety.
Drug and Alcohol Education Program
We offer 12-week and 26-week Drug and Alcohol Education programs to meet the requirements set by the Maryland court system. These programs are available for individuals who have been convicted of:
Where to find dual diagnosis treatment services
At some of our locations, you can receive substance abuse treatment while you participate in therapy for underlying mental health issues. Evidence shows that mental illness can contribute to addiction and substance abuse.
By addressing your health needs, we can improve the chances of recovery. These services are available at:
