Went there about 2 years ago. Experience was horrible. Detox is rushed, the med protocol is third world standard, borderline cruel - And was discharged after going to hospital twice for anxiety attacks. Staff is ill equipped to handle such things, as they will just assume you are drug seeking. Programming seems designed to make people want to hang themselves. Fresh out of bathing in your bodily fluids, you are forced to endure the cult like 12 step garbage for 8-10 hours a day. You might say: "Surely, Geralt, people vary, from case to case, wouldn't the assess everyone on an individual basis, and then determine when they are ready?" Well stated, astute addict; But no. You will be forced to sit in a cold room, with dozens of people, feeling like you are about to jump through the ceiling whether you like it or not. You will be told everyone goes through this, and if you don't, you will relapse. There are plenty of examples of this place being a revolving door hours after you arrive. People drop from the program as quickly as they come in, are labelled as people not really wanting to get better, and are just here for an "oil change." This comes from a bunch of optimists who have the stink of the 12 step hysteria. I lasted a whole 2 weeks here. Was homeless for about a solid month afterwards, waiting to get into D-House. Been straight for 2 years. So what can you learn from my burn? Well, firstly, if you have an open mind, and read everything above plainly, it becomes quite clear that this place failed me, and a better option got the job done. So, if you're still reading, please, Avoid this place like the plague.
