I, for one, have never had any issues with PAR but I'm not in the Detox part but I have been there for over 6 years. Its pretty cheap replacing one addiction with a "legal" one ad long as you have money or insurance

So I’ve been to par for a few years, they certainly have made a difference, being in the clinic has saved my life. But I wouldn’t say it was due to helpful personnel or councilors. Over the last three years there have been more than once I’ve felt like all the staff really cares about is money. But one thing is that those nurses there are very nice and caring, I’m not sure how deep their feelings go but I’m assuming they are legit or they wouldn’t be there. I’ve been rotated around with councilors, I’ve had 6 in three years, the young councilor Antonio most recently and in a short time he became my favorite, he is smart, soft spoken, interested, and not out of date like some others. Im now leaving the area but I wanted to leave a review to show my thanks for the opportunity to better myself par gave me.

Definitely NOT what I thought it would be. Significant let down, the help I sought I didn't receive. I'd previously been told of some of the counselors not really trying to help, just remain employed- This was blatantly obvious after my first few discussions with several. There is one in particular who says the oddest, strangest things. If anyone goes here, Id recommend you steer clear of the Old, Ice-T wannabe oddball. If I name him, it will come back to my friends currently there or dealing with PAR. That counselor seeks to only help himself, his career, not those he pledges to be of service to. Upon your first talk with him, you will see glaring, obscure, strange remarks and unprofessionalism. I question if this dude was attempting to make a pass at me, utilizing his profession as a tool to gain access to people's lives that he wouldn't normally be able to obtain. How this man has a job here is a mystery to me. Had I recorded our convo, his coworkers would find him repulsive and his boss would have fired him. Disgusting behavior from one in his position. I WILL expose him AFTER my friends are clear and done with this place.

uhh they need to work on their interpersonal communication skills. The 2 different counselors I spoke with were condescending, mildly abusive and abrasive. They actually chided me when I confided in them. Tried to tear me down, as if I was worthless. I have been to one other place in Texas advertising similar help as PAR, yet the results and effectiveness of the two could not be any more polar opposite. I cant understand how this place remains operating, although I'm relatively new to the area so maybe its like the only major one. Shame on these people.
