​​OCPC works hard to establish and strengthen community collaboration in support of local efforts to prevent youth substance use. The coalition will achieve its goals by implementing these strategies: Increasing development protective factors and decrease risk factors as we address adolescent substance abuse in Oswego County. Tyler Ahart DFC Coalition Coordinator Tyler is a native of Oswego County and earned his bachelor’s degree from Oswego State University where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Writing Award and received a degree in Interpersonal Communication & Social Interaction. Before joining the Farnham team in 2018, he worked as Community Specialist for the Tobacco Free Network of CNY where he worked with local property owners to establish smoke-free housing for renters. He now serves as Project Coordinator for the Oswego County Prevention Coalition where he has since worked with City of Oswego officials to enact a Social Host Ordinance, establish Oswego County drug-disposal drop boxes and perform crucial data collection on youth substance abuse and trends. Tyler continues to work alongside community stakeholders to eliminate adolescent substance in Oswego County. Kyle McCauley Prevention Specialist Kyle earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Oswego. One of his focuses while a student was research on the dangers of drinking and driving. After graduating, Kyle went on to join the Oswego County Prevention Coalition in a part time position, before transitioning to a full time role with Farnham Family Services. Kyle now serves as the Project Manager for the Stop Act Grant under the Oswego County Prevention Coalition. Kyle now works alongside other community professionals to help provide outreach and education on the dangers of underage drinking, as well as drinking and driving. Kelsey Mattoon Coalition Manager /Youth Coalition Leader Kelsey earned her Associates in Science in Human Services from Finger Lakes Community College, and then continued her education at Oswego State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. After graduation, Kelsey has worked as an advocate for individuals who have disabilities in assisting them to obtain services and create action plans to achieve their individual goals. Kelsey is currently working as a community advocate for individuals who have and are struggling substance use disorders and this with mental health needs. As the current Suicide Prevention Coaliton Manager, Kelsey works alongside community stakeholders to raise awareness of and prevent suicide in Oswego County.
