Dave Cunningham1 StarBad experience due to poor communication to both the patient and the family, plus confusing and conflicting info when we did get it. Plus no mental health counseling until day 28 of a 30 day program and then only because we pushed them on this. All the focus was on addition which is often a symptom and not a cause. Ms Ms1 StarI do not recommend this facility. I believe they are committing fraud by accepting and admitting clients; stating they will place them in a structured program (billing for higher rate of pay from medicaid/medicare/insurance) and then placing them in a less secure facility where their house managers are recently recovered addicts without the long term stability required by the State. Additionally, they treat clients of color very differently than they treat white clients. This is a money making scheme and their focus is anything but, the long term needs of a client and our community. Additionally, if a client relapses they kick them out instead of working with them, even on their first relapse when in reality clients who need inpatient rehab should not be placed in a facility where they can come and go as they choose when detoxing from drugs or alcohol. Additionally, they have a one size fits all treatment modality and the reality is when you work with human beings you need to understand and meet people where they are. They also need to understand many addicts have been victimized and so, some of their approaches may trigger PTSD and/or cause psychotic breaks. Don't advertise that you are a dual diagnosis facility without having the basic knowledge of trauma. Do you yourself a favor and find a treatment facility that treats the individual and not a cookie cutter approach rooted in greed. West Pines is a far better option. Do not go here or send your loved one here.Friday 28th May 2021
