Meet our PT

Akshita Karani Shah, MA, PT.

Akshita has Master of Arts in Pathokinesiology from New York University and has Bachelor’s of Physiotherapy from Mangalore University, India.

She began her career as a staff physical therapist and worked in different out-patient and in-patient physical therapy settings for 6 years. In 2008 she decided to pursue her long awaited dream of starting a PT practice of her own. Physical Therapy World and Rehabilitation Inc located in North Brunswick was started in 2010 and Akshita practices there as the primary Physical Therapist.

I have to start by saying I have been to a few physical therapy places over the years. I was recommended this place by the doctor I’m seeing for my car accident. I have a torn shoulder among many issues with my neck and back from the accident. I have never had better treatment nor better bed side manner then at this place. They truly care for you as if you are more then a patient to them. I would recommend them to anyone having issues that need physical therapy.

Great service, they are very attentive to detail and make sure to have you feeling new when you walk out. My mother Ramona went in for knee pain and in only a month she’s feeling much better.

When I was diagnosed with a frozen shoulder, I was recommended to try physical therapy to help get my movement back. I searched through my insurance, but it was like picking one out of a hat, without knowing anything about the place. Google reviews to the rescue! Once I saw the 5 star reviews, and that it was only 10 minutes away, I decided to give PT World a try, and I'm so happy I did. Akshita is simply the best. She is good at what she does, and has such a positive attitude. She was determined to help me get my arm movements and rotation back, and we did it! If you are on the fence, look no further. Their hours changed during the pandemic, last time I was there, and they were only open Monday & Wednesday (9am - 3pm), and Friday (9am - 1pm). Best way to get in touch is to call and leave a message if necessary. They will get back to you.
