My mother was in Pine Acres for one year. She passed today. I can not say anything bad about Pine Acres. The nursing staff is amazing. The administration was great. I was always informed about everything. I have to give a huge thank you to Nurse Betty. She is such a caring person. My mother loved her. Thank you all for caring and taking care of my Mom.

This is my second time being here at Pine Acres for rehab. I would recommend it highly! The nursing care is excellent, as well as the CNA's. They are very attentive to all patients. The food has been the best out of any other place I have been. Thank you!!

My mother has been at pine Acres for 5 days and the service has been absolutely terrible. She is there as a rehabilitation patient who cannot move from her bed without assistance. While there is a button for help, no one ever comes by and two days ago she went an entire day without her pain medication. She asked two aides and the PT to ask her nurse for her medicine and it never came. When I approached the nurse on several occasions as an advocate on behalf of my mother she was rude and acted like I was an inconvenience to her. She took no blame and said my mother never asked for medicine. This happened again the next day and I had to ultimately call the Assistant director of Nursing at home who corrected the situation. I also sat and watched this happen first hand where we waited an hour to get the pain medicine I personally asked the nurse for. Some of the aides have been rude and disrespectful of these patients as well. The food seems fine but it always comes cold- I believe this is due to the aides not the chef. I asked staff to clean her wheelchair which smelled and a day later they still had not brought it back even after she requested it multiple times. She is trying to improve her condition by helping herself and moving to a wheelchair which can’t be done if it’s not there. I’ve been told I can’t visit on weekends because it’s reserved for o it of town families but when I stopped by yesterday with some essentials for my mom, there were no visitors visible to me and only a scarce staff on duty. My son is in town today from Philly and I asked if he could visit his grandmother for 30 minutes and we were shut down. I could understand if due to Covid they were limited numbers, but there is no one there that I can see. Are they covering up on the weekends for an unethically and perhaps illegally short staff? I was told by a nurse yesterday that she was the only one covering an entire floor. It seems to me simply a for profit business with no regard to the proper or empathetic care of elderly patients. I recommend you do not send family members there unless they can take care of themselves. The only person who has tried to make a difference is Twania Smith-Burke. She is a professional and caring RN. I’d like to add an addendum to my earlier review since it has been over a week. Joe, the administrator has been very responsive since the complaints and stops in almost daily to see if my mom has any issues. She has been getting good PT. I continue to have to reach out to the Assistant Director of Nursing to help resolve ongoing issues but certain senior level people have been responsive. I do think the biggest problem rests with the aides. I have yet to see one smile. They are aloof and not properly responsive - it feels like they have no business being caretakers nor any interest. My mother needed a few simple things last night like a spoon and while the aide said she would get it she never did. My mom asked this same aide for something else and again nothing. Unfortunately with 1 nurse on an entire floor, the aides are a critical component of care and this has to be fixed at Pine Acres.

My mother was at this place and she did not get the care she needed. Staff is rude and the Director of Nursing does not return phone calls. It takes the staff a very long time to respond to patient when they need to go to bathroom or need medication. I would not send someone you love to this place
