If you have a loved one, do not send them here. My mom was here and I was appalled at the living conditions of the room. Dirty floors that haven't been swept in a long time, run down furniture and bedding. Meals were missed daily and the food was cold 90% of the time. If they forgot something and you ask them to bring it, forget it, they usually don’t come back. If you ring for the nurse, they will show up 45 min later. The staff lacks any kind of compassion for the patients and literally have no bed side manner. They all have the demeanor that working is an inconvenience. One of the workers took a 10 min break in the bathroom in the room. Doctors there don't care either, they are in and out. It took this place 3 days to get all of my mom’s medications on track. 3 days! Though my parent was there for physical therapy, they took her 2 days at 15 min a pop. I have no idea how this place is allowed to exist in its current state.

Mom has gotten so much better in the last 7 + weeks. She is happy with the care she has been given. And when she is happy, I am happy 😊

I'm very happy with Preferred Care. It's clean , cheerful and the patients seem happy. The staff is helpful and sweet. My brother is not an easy patient and he's happy here. Even the food is acceptable to him!

My wife and I have been entertainers in many, many nursing homes and rehabs for the last 20 years, almost every day! We feel we are qualified to comment on conditions in our venues, and I feel the need to give an excellent rating to Preferred Care at Mercer, (and all the other Preferred Cares). We have performed at Mercer 1-2 times/month for at least 10 years. We have gotten to closely know staff and residents, and have observed the place to be always clean, orderly, and organized. Our music events and themes are well-overseen and the residents are happy. Activities staff is always looking to keep residents occupied and content. Toinette, and all other staff are very attentive and often personally interact with the residents. The food (occasionally sampled by us) is pretty tasty, well prepared. The most important thing is that the staff really cares for the residents’ well being. This place is one of the best, when it comes to seeing to resident care. This place treats the residents (us too!) like family. Sincerely, Sue and Marty- Hitz Squad Music🎵 Kudos to Adminstrator-Jay Orzel

My husband was transferred to Perferred Care from Capital Health Fuld after a fall. His blood sugar was running over 200 to 300, he was told that was good. I asked them to contact Dr Gettys to have checked. They never did. The one time she visited him, she stood in the doorway and asked him how he was. I spoke to her about the high blood sugar concerned about shock or coma, she laughed and said it wasn't high enough. She hadn't looked at his chart before the visit. He complained of a blocked right ear, she never checked it but ordered drops it took 36 hours for the pharmacy to send up. At 11:30 am the aide Steffany told his roommate to sit in his wheelchair so she could change his sheets, she went off duty at 7pm never changed his bed. The food was always cold and never brought at the same time. Had to ask for water and most times it took hours to get. My husband had a heart monitor that I had to charge and change the patch. They said it was a specialty item and they didn't know how to do it. The nurse gave his roommate 2 extra strength tylenol, said she was out of oxycodone, that it would be the same. This facility is about 2 miles from my home, but I would never admit my family again.
