“Educate, enrich and empower to make a difference” is the mandate of Psychotherapeutic Services, founded in 1988 as a private-public partnership with the State of Delaware, to deliver services to persons with serious mental illness. PS has since grown into a large multi-service organization offering genuine caring and hope to thousands of youth, adults and families with behavioral health issues including substance use, co-occurring disorders, juvenile justice, criminal justice, social welfare reform, and cognitive and intellectual disabilities in Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina and Florida. PS effectively provides treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration into mainstream society for persons served. Psychotherapeutic Services has operationalized this mandate by providing an array of traditional, cutting edge and evidence-based practices integrated into a system of care approach guided by our commitment to quality. As evidence of our success, the national Committee on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredits Psychotherapeutic Services’ Assertive Community Treatment: Mental Health (Adults); Case Management/Services Coordination: Mental Health (Adults, Children and Adolescents); Community Integration: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (Adults); Crisis and Information Call Centers: Mental Health (Adults); Health Home: Comprehensive Care (Adults); Intensive Family-Based Services: Family Services (Children and Adolescents); Intensive Outpatient Treatment: Mental Health (Adults); Outpatient Treatment: Mental Health (Adults, Children and Adolescents); Residential Treatment: Mental Health (Adults); and Supported Living: Mental Health (Adults). Psychotherapeutic Services is a family of corporations managed and organized by location, service type, and funding streams that offers a broad array of modalities including, facility-based, mobile, community-based and residential treatment services. Each service PS offers is specifically designed to meet the needs of our funders and the individual served. For the fiscal year ending 6-30-15, Psychotherapeutic Services had an annual operating budget in excess of $18,000,000 providing 10,000 unduplicated individual’s services, including over 4000 to youth and their families. Currently PS successfully operates 34 programs in 4 states plus 12 group homes and 23 supervised apartments, employing over 300 employees.
