"When I came to Reconnections in 2009, I was a pregnant, abused woman, homeless, and newly sober. Because of the lifestyle I had led, I had a serious mistrust of women and relationship issues with men. My counselor worked with me individually to help me gain the tools and skills to lead a productive life outside of a relationship. The group leader taught a women's group that radically changed me and helped me learn how to develop trusting friendships with other women that I am still friends with today. ReConnections was an important part of my foundation on which I built a life and now have over 12 years of recovery."
