My sister is in this facility for rehab from a broken femur bone. My family is so impressed with the care. We have high standards when it comes to her care. There is a culture of compassion throughout the building. The PT staff is amazing! They are constantly looking for ways to improve her strength, provide tools to aid in more independence and a lift for her shoes. They got her up on day one walking with a walker when the previous rehab place said it wasn’t safe to do. We are blessed to have our sister being cared for by the kind staff! Keep up the awesome job!

My stay at Riverview went well. The staff was very professional. I was reluctant at first, but soon relaxed and felt at ease. I would suggest this for your rehabilitation needs. I left feeling confident that i could manage at home. Thank You, Riverview

Staff were not informed of reason my father was admitted. They got frustrated with him when he couldn’t do what they asked (which was his reason for being there). Physical therapy was minimal and his reason for being there was PT and rehab. Spent about 15-20 min with him a day and never gave him exercises to do in the interim. Misplaced his meds and asked him what they were called and what kind Of box it came in. Hit his head on the headboard when moving him. After two complaints the staff seemed to be more attentive. Still Didn’t get much therapy.

James Milla, if there are concerns that are covered up, say what they are. Don't hide behind that vague comment. My dealings with this facility have all been great. The staff has been incredible.

On Aug. 21, I told a nurse my mom wasn’t herself and the nurse assured me that mom was fine. The next morning I received an email saying they had 16 positive Covid cases and all resident families and roommates had been notified. That afternoon while FaceTiming mom, I found out from a CNA that my mom did test positive for Covid. At this time, my mom was wearing someone else’s shirt. A covid outbreak and patients are wearing other patient’s clothing - but it gets worse. Riverview treats positive patients with hydroxychloroquine and zinc. I told the staff I did not want my mom treated with hydroxychloroquine and preferred the CDC’s recommended treatment. My mom seemed to be getting worse over the weekend. By Monday she was unresponsive and severely dehydrated. I requested she be sent to the hospital. The hospital said mom was so dehydrated she had “kidney injury.” Tuesday, I was read the nursing home “rights” regarding the daily rate to hold her room while mom was hospitalized - they have to do this by law. I declined and told them to pack her belongings. When I opened her possessions I found several articles of clothing that were clearly marked with another patient’s name, and several of my mom’s pieces of clothing were missing. And the final straw, mom’s dentures are missing. A handful of dedicated nurses and a one excellent Social Worker don’t make up for the incompetent administration and ongoing issue of short staffing, especially on the weekends. No visitation and still massive Covid outbreak that you don’t hear about on the news. I did file a complaint with the RI Dept. Of Health. Thanks to staff at RI Hospital and lots of prayers, mom is recovering from Covid at 90 years of age. Avoid Riverview Nursing in Coventry at all costs! In response to the administrators comments, I filed two complaints with the RI Dept of Health regarding my mom’s treatment , no one from DOH contacted me to discuss my complaints. And I actually took photos of clothes return me that belong to my mom’s roommate, marked with the roommate’s name. Yes, these are scary times, but the elderly in nursing homes are the ones getting the brunt of it. Once again I’ll advice anyone to think twice before placing a loved one in this facility.
