Dr. Gerwe has been an invaluable part of my life the past two and a half years. He has been an instrumental part of the most significant period of growth and resolution that I have been through in my life. He is extremely reliable; I know I can always count on getting a response from him, even between sessions. I saw Roger for individual counseling and at first he was very helpful but as soon as my opinion didn’t align with his, he tried to gaslight me and force a change in my opinion. It was a very frustrating experience and I could tell he was getting angry at me. I shut the conversation down and never returned to him. He is extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend him to anyone. I left his office with far more frustration from him than from what I came to work through in the first place. He also tries to relate everything back to himself by telling long winded stories about his days as an alcoholic, which doesn’t really help and just eats up time.

My husband and I both agree that Roger does not listen so therefore his assumptions are wrong and then he tries to connect analogies from his life to ours that do not correlate to the issues in our marriage. He has stereotypes he applies to people. At our last appointment we had to wait for him to calm down he got so mad. Roger has anger issues and takes it out on the couples. He gets very frustrated. He yelled at me saying he called me out on something which neither my husband nor I understood what he was referring to. At one session Roger knew that I had trust issues with my husband and I requested my husband to not be present when I shared particular information. Later he got very heated and yelled at me saying I was being dramatic asking my husband to not be present. Roger needs to go to anger management classes!

My husband and I have recently started seeing Roger. He has a straightforward approach that is much appreciated. Our time with him has been time well spent. He has great insight and is obviously skilled in helping to restore/improve relationships.

Roger is wonderful, he's helped me work through trauma issues, I believe everyone is carrying around some trauma, no matter how "perfect" your life may seem that could use some healing. Roger has helped me on my healing journey.
