Rogers Behavioral Health Brown Deer Outpatient Center

Across the road from Rogers’ inpatient hospital in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, our Brown Deer Outpatient Center offers convenient outpatient care for individuals who would benefit from receiving comprehensive, evidence-based day treatment for a variety of conditions. Patients can participate in partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment before or after inpatient or residential care. Research shows that treatment outcomes improve when patients continue with outpatient care after a hospital stay or residential treatment. Roger Luhn, MD, is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist in Brown Deer. Dr. Luhn joined our medical staff in 2003 as a full-time attending psychiatrist with OCD and Anxiety Center Adolescent Residential Care at Rogers' Oconomowoc campus. Dr. Luhn previously practiced at Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison, and served as medical director at the Mercy Cooperative Childcare Institute in Janesville. He has directed inpatient, outpatient and residential programs for children and adolescents. Dr. Luhn earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, and his medical degree at the University of California in San Diego. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Arizona Medical Center and area hospitals. Dr. Luhn is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Communication was poor between staff. Multiple times that I was not informed about important information regarding my child. I understand under staffing but my child told me things that were not appropriate responses that staff should have used to interact with children who are seeking help from these facilities. I noticed a lot of staff seemed uninterested in concerns from parents. Also lack of sufficient room checks that my child informed me of and therfore causing children to sneak items to others to self harm and staff not seeming interested in doing their jobs properly as I had to inform them myself of what they were not doing to keep my child safe from hurting herself.

I had a really great experience here it really helped me when I was struggling with really bad anxiety and when I had a hard time doing daily things. The staff where amazing and very supportive and I really appreciate that. They are all a very important part of my life and I won’t ever forget them and I just want to tell them thank you for everything they did.

I went here 3 years ago and it has help me a lot, they do exposure therapy that is difficult but it’s efficient. Very nice staff I really enjoyed sharing a laugh with them everyday. The staff was always there to talk to and give support when needed. Wish I could’ve stayed in touch with the people I meet there because we all got along. I really liked the head therapist because she was kind and she understood me. If you are struggling with anxiety and OCD than I would totally recommend Rogers Anxiety and OCD intensive outpatient treatment at Rogers outpatient center.
