I would rate this 20 stars if I could!!!! I went to Sage House in 2015 with my fiance straight off the streets. We had a daughter Nov. 2014, we unfortunately didnt have her when we got to the program but we wanted to do anything to change our lives for the better and raise our daughter properly. And within a few weeks she was there for good with us. To say Sage House helped us would be an understatement. The staff there put their heart and souls into helping each and every family and also made it so you felt safe and at home. The director of the program was amazing! The groups he ran were very to the point but everything he would say just made sense and would stick with you. (Even now I think of some of the phrases or topics he talked about.) There were 3 case managers to manage the families there, there was children's coordinator who was a saint, you just felt "grandmother" vibes from her the second you met her, there was also a family therapist, which is crucial in a treatment facility. Not only to talk about what you were struggling with as a parent but as a couple too. Years of addiction and being homeless takes a toll on you and makes you put up a wall which can be really hard to break down. Although there were 3 case managers, it really didnt matter who your family had, they were all really easy to talk to and they all took turns running various groups or activities. Each of them took time to get to know you so if you were having an off day and your case manager had the day off you still felt comfortable knowing someone else was there. They understood that some days were going to be harder than others and we all had behaviors that were hard to break. But they were there for you and although if was their job, you could feel that they cared and wanted to help you through it. Or walk away to let you "blow up" and be sure to keep checking in until you were ready to talk about it, or laugh about it with you! Each family had the same rules in the home although some families had different things to work on, from court cases, other children, getting a job, going to school, or housing, but we were all treated the same and we all worked on things together. Of course with almost 10 families all under the same roof, we all basically faught and forgave each other like siblings would. We all wanted to see each other succeed because we lived with them for a year or so and knew about a lot of their struggles. We had cook outs in the summer, halloween parties and multiple Christmas parties. There were even amazing people who would come in and volunteer their time to play with our kids in the house. Everyone I met while I was in Sage House made an impact on my life and I will forever be grateful for all the staff, volunteers and friends I made while living in Framingham. I still talk to a majority of the people I met. Sage House saved my family's lives. Today we are sober, renting a house, still have our little girl who is now almost 6 and we've added another little girl to our family 3 yrs ago. If you are looking a program in Massachusetts I highly recommend this one!

I think this place is a God-send...the staff there actually care and they are willing to help you. However, a common misconception is that they (staff) will FIND you housing. They can assist you in a successful transition but ultimately you the client are responsible for locating an apartment or other residence for your family...take some accountability. What do you call it when someone gives you lodging for year, rent free, without bills; they provide donations, transportation and other supports...then you complain that they didn't help you enough? Ingratitude? Entitlement? Despicable.

Family residential treatment center for single dads and families. The only place in the state that offers those specific services. This home and the organization (smoc) that runs it saves lives!! If you or anyone you know that fits this criteria and needs help I suggest you reach out. You won't regret it! Addicts are people too, and we're also parents. We deserve a chance to break the cycle and learn how to live again sober and happy.. Thank you Sage house!
