After a car accident I was recommended to The Center for Counseling because I was having some mental issues. None of my doctors could help me. I started sessions with Sheila and turns out she said I had a closed head injury. She knew exactly what doctor for closed head injuries to send me to. After some testing it was discovered she was correct. The psychiatrist at The Center was able to get me on the correct meds to help my situation. That was 20 years ago and because of their dedication I have been living a better life. The staff is compassionate and helpful. I highly recommend them. It is my pleasure to write a review about the care I have received while being a client at The Center for Counseling. On a scale of 1 to 10. I would give them a 10 rating. I have received excellent care and my therapist couldn’t be kinder and more caring in making sure I am receiving the best possible care. I continue to progress and see positive changes in my life and for my well being. She continues to help me a great deal and is most always available to me. The office staff is always friendly and kind and greet you with a smile, and I can always get an appointment when needed. They are also good about putting you on a waiting list whenever possible to try and accommodate their client’s needs. I am aware of another client at the Center and they too are very pleased with the level of care they are receiving. I have referred The Center for Counseling to others in need. It is also a very neat and clean environment. My overall experience continues to be a very positive one.

This place is horrible. They don’t return phone calls. Waiting over 2 weeks for a call back. Matthew is never in the office and neither is the manager. They are rude and don’t return phone calls.

I have been here twice and Ms. Sheila is amazing. After 2nd meeting with her, I felt positive and I really want to work to make myself feel good about ME! Ms. Sheila treated me with respect and showed me she cared. I highly recommend coming here. I didn’t have any problems with receptionist. She was also very kind.

My daughter has been being seen by Kristen for months now. She absolutely loves her and we have not had a real issue aside from waiting a bit to be seen, but I work in a medical office and understand that things don't go right as scheduled. After my daughter began seeing the psychologist is when the real issues started. They put her on a medication that is working wonders and scheduled a follow up appointment for the next month. She did not begin her medication right away so I called to reschedule the appointment 2 days prior. My daughter ALWAYS sees Kristen on Thursdays. I called and rescheduled her Tuesday appointment with the psychologist to 3 weeks later so we could get a base on how the medication was working. It is working great by the way. We go in Thursday for our usual appointment with Kristen to get told our appointment had been cancelled and that we no-showed Tuesday. I explained to the lady that when i called I cancelled Tuesday, not Thursday obviously because why would I cancel it and then show up? She told me there would be a $45 for our no-show. This was an office mistake, not a patient mistake. She said she would talk with her office manager who would call me back. Two days later I receive a letter stating all of my daughter's future appointments have been cancelled until I pay the fee. I call up there and speak to the woman who had taken my call to cancel appointments. She tells me she assumed I meant to cancel Thursday and not Tuesday because Tuesday was with Kristen and Thursday was with the psychologist. I tell her that when I made the appointments I assumed it was the other way around because I always make her appointments with Kristen on THURSDAYS. She then tells me there must have been a misunderstand all around because the psychologist is only ever in on Thursday, but that she would explain what happened to her office manager and have the account cleared and her call me back Monday when she gets back from vacation. Today is Wednesday. My daughter's father just received a call from Kristen asking why Kara missed her appointment with her Thursday. Are you kidding me?!!! THE OFFICE SENT A LETTER CANCELLING ALL APPOINTMENTS AND I HAVE STILL NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE OFFICE MANAGER! There is obviously a lack of communication between staff. So I call again today to see what is going on, why I was never called by the manager, and why we are receiving calls accusing us of no-showing again. I had to explain this whole story all over again. Once the woman realizes who I am and why I am calling all of a sudden the office manager is not in but would I like to leave a message? Um yes, I have been waiting since Monday for a call from the office. Can I get that call please? If my daughter did not have such a great relationship with Kristen and was not put on a medication that needs authorization for refills, we would be looking elsewhere.

I can CLEARLY see why these ratings are so low!! The “Area Manager” Shelia Cowlings doesn’t not even have the common courtesy to return a phone call. 6 messages have been left over 3 weeks and nothing. Want to switch my son to a different counselor and she told her staff to tell me that’s not allowed. They have a number of different people counseling in that office. They chose this woman for my son by first available appointment and she is not the right fit for him. We were hoping to stay in this practice because the location is convenient, but we certainly are not going to waste our time with the wrong counselor. Other offices ENCOURAGE you to move around until you find one that you are comfortable with. Not sure why they won’t budge on this because yet again she is much to unprofessional to reach out and take care of her responsibilities. Way too show how much you care about your clients. Good bye.

Went in for depression and wasn’t offered any help. Jessica was the “counselor” and didn’t listen to a single thing that was said. Continued to ask the same questions over and over and seemed like she was on drugs herself.
