The Grove at Irwin

My mother experiences the Grove in Irwin. Please do not ever put your family member here. The place is filthy dirty I had to bring my own cleaners and scrub the room down including walls. The food is horrible. She gets nothing but water and milk on her trays. When she is sliding down in the bed in a bad position the nurse tells her she is fine and doesn't need pulled up in the bed. The housekeepers won't clean because of covid all the more reason to clean but they won't. They will not get her out of bed and she doesn't get enough therapy and she is a temporary stay there for therapy. The agency employees are better than the ones that work for the facility. She is not getting washed good enough. After using a bed pan she is left with BM on her skin. It's like they want people's ski. To break down. The worst nursing home I have ever experienced and I worked at a lot of them over the years. Much neglect and working on mom getting moved.

This place stinks like pee…. It’s especially noticeable coming in. The breakfast was disgusting… some food is etible but if your hungry for more it’s too bad all you get is your initial plate and no more … boring as hell Bingo was played once or twice a week and that we loved… residents love Bingo not a place I’d go back too……all this place is after is people’s SS ! They give 45 dollars out of peoples SS… limited smoke brakes but employees went when they wanted This place lacks sanitary practices

Understaffed for patient care. Staff always infected with COVID which closed down in - person visits. Very hard to get information about patient Lost a few items of patient’s clothing Poor PT

I came to The Grove a year ago. I am very satisfied with my decision to make this my home. The therapy department is outstanding. The nursing department saved my life and nursed me back to health. The administrative staff always has their ears open and ready to listen to residents' comments and concerns. The dietary department is great with the food service. Admissions went out of their way to give me a roommate that I am compatible with. I am a nurse who is very critical of others and my standards are very high and I would recommend The Grove to anyone needing care.
