Rich (Owner & Director), John (House Manager), and Brendan (who will never leave – personal joke) are family to me. Amongst many others. I love them and I know they will do anything in their power to help me on my journey of recovery. The Kelly House is a very special place. It is a serious men’s sober home. It is not for everyone. One is strongly encouraged to participate in a 12-Step plan of recovery. Personally, I balked. I did not want to participate in basement meetings with other addicts and alcoholics drinking bad coffee and celebrating sobriety. The Kelly House strives to implement the 12-Step Program into daily living on a path to recovery. Through this process I was encouraged to just be willing to try to understand the program. I was encouraged to reach out to those I damaged; primarily those with my last name. I was encouraged to not project on the future or harp on the past but rather focus on today, to respect the miracle that I was no longer incarcerated and given an opportunity to rebuild my life. I was encouraged to forgive myself and to let others forgive me, if they were capable. I was encouraged to not be concerned about what others thought of me but rather reflect and understand what I did for others today, without regard to looking for praise for my better actions. I was encouraged to pause, to reflect, and to reach out to others when I needed help. I had two options, Parole at the Kelly House or 10 more months of incarceration. Soon I will be completing Parole and moving back with my family. The chances I would be in this position were less than slim, yet the opportunities I have moving forward are endless. The 12-Step program is one of living a better life, cleaning your side of the street, it is one of forgiving others, one of forgiving yourself, and most importantly one of giving back to others what has been given to you. The Kelly House gives back. It changes lives.

I got to the Kelly house in Feb. 2020 and. Have been there for over a year. And this place is by far the best sober living house in MA. Rich and John will do everything they can to help you succeed and help you build a foundation for the rest of your life. The atmosphere of the house is so pleasant. Everyone helps everyone in this house. Not to mention the prime location right on the lake and Wakefield is very nice, quiet, and welcoming town.

Absolute joke. Puts 6 people in a room, charges 200 a week and think recovery is one size fits all. If their form of recovery doesn't work for you, they make you uncomfortable until you eventually have to move out due to feeling like a stranger in your own house. Would never recommend.

I Have been at the Kelly House now for one week. I have been all over the country in different type of rehabs and sober Living’s in an attempt to get clean and sober. This is by far the best sober living home I have ever been In. Not only are the guys in the house helpful but the manager John is awesome. I have not met Rich the owner personally yet but I heard nothing but good things about him. And the view of the lake is absolutely gorgeous, can’t beat it. I highly recommend the Kelly House to anyone attempting to get clean and sober!!!
