The Pavilion Behavioral Health System offers acute inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (PHP) for children ages 4 through 11 who would benefit from care in a positive, therapeutic setting. Our programs are led by an interdisciplinary treatment team in a secure, nurturing environment and focus on a progressive, comprehensive approach to behavioral, emotional or psychiatric disorders. We partner with families to help provide children with the best possible care, and we offer ongoing treatment and therapy to address each child’s long-term needs. It’s our goal to help make a difference in your child’s life, and to help them embark on the path to hope and healing.

Our behavioral health services for adolescents ages 12–17 include acute inpatient care, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), a partial hospitalization program (PHP), psychiatric stabilization and evaluation, and dual diagnosis treatment for youth who struggle with substance abuse and psychiatric issues. Youth ages 10–18 who are facing severe and chronic psychiatric disorders can receive long-term treatment through The Pavilion’s Residential Treatment Center.

Our inpatient hospitalization services for adolescents provide short-term crisis stabilization through our acute care facility. When a teenager is hospitalized, it is important for their parent or guardian to participate in their treatment on a regular basis. Adolescent patients can also receive outpatient support through our partial hospitalization services.

Yes, there will be hiccups just like any medical facility, but people, they saved my life. I give them a 4.5 but do not know how to do half stars. Let me tell you the truth, everyone there wants you to get better, and live a wonderful life. Go to group! Make friends! All the patients are broken in some way and that is how you heal. The groups were amazing. I have never felt so validated as a person as I do now. The conversations are on a level we can all identify with. I will never forget one time I felt down during group and walked out, slid down the wall and hugged my knees. The sweetest lady can to me, she was just the janitor of the 3rd floor, always so nice in the mornings to us. She came right to me and talked to me. Just another human being responding to the pain of another. That right there meant the world to me. She was African American, beautiful braided hair, and a little short (I forget her name), but so sweet. I hope she sees this and is praised for who she is. Totally amazing time for me. If you need help, go, it will change your life.

My experience at the Pavilion was beyond distressing. As a medical organization, the Pavilion has failed miserably to provide their patients with any respect, care, or compassion/empathy. It is very apparent the staff would look down on their patients instead of providing high quality medical care. It was common for me to hear verbal harassment towards patients who needed extra care and attention and numerous degrading comments towards patients. I trusted my care and life with the Pavilion and it is safe to say that they were unprofessional, uncaring, unsuccessful medically and financially. They failed my trust and health along with so many others. The first moment I was admitted to the Pavilion, they had me locked in a tiny cubical for HOURS with no staff checking up on me or having the chance to use the bathroom. Checking with peers at the Pavilion, their experience was similar in which another individual waited over 5 hours in a tiny enclosed space. I would spend my days at the Pavilion doing child-like arts and crafts/ watching TV for the whole day, and never had a chance to talk 1-1 with a provider about my mental health. There was no therapy within this program as they claim. Some days, there would be nothing planned so a staff member would randomly talk about life choices and behavior. I almost never had the opportunity to call my parents over the phone, they only provided one phone for all the patients on the floor for a certain amount of hours. I only saw the doctor once or twice at 6am for 5 minutes regarding medication. The worst part in my opinion is the charges the Pavilion bills. I was told numerous times that insurance would cover my WHOLE bills. However, I was billed over thousands of dollars afterwards (for literally arts/crafts and a place to eat with disgusting bland food). I filled out a charity form and was approved and was told that my charges were CLEARED and that I "didn't have to worry about it anymore". However, after a whole year, I was told that I still had to make payments regarding my stay at the Pavilion. I asked the financial manager numerous times to answer my questions, and she dodged every single one of them. She was highly unprofessional, giving me so much attitude and disrespect. I hope you guys take my feedback seriously and please do not trust your care at the Pavilion, as they are highly incompetent of knowing their values and job expectations. Your time, money, and most importantly, health should not be trusted with this organization, trust me you deserve so much better.

Let’s just say, I am beyond mad at this facility. I went here once when I was 12, and they kept me for a week. It was the worst experience in my life, they deadnamed me, and the worst part is that the staff was very judgmental and rude towards the patients. They never fully returned my clothes back to me, they only gave me some. They didn’t give the clothes that had buttons or laces in them back to me when I got discharged either. I came out as trans to them and they refused to call me “cole”. Not to mention the therapist you would regularly see in there didn’t give me any nice advice either, she would only talk about school and grades not home life and health. My friend who is 13 recently got discharged from there as well and he said that the staff was still rude and they didn’t call him by his preferred name either, this is ridiculous.

My son was admitted to the Pavilion. Some of the techs were often rude and condescending when calling in to discuss child. In fact one of the tech said I had an attitude when asked questions he could not answer. Some of the nurses were also often rude and belittling towards parents. In fact one nurse mentioned that she needed to check to see if I was on his release and I’m his mom. I was really confused by her response. As a parent it becomes difficult to send our children to a place like this for help. It really concerns me when the staff is uncooperative, unprofessional and uncaring. You would think that it would be the exact opposite. One of the techs CJ was really kind and caring. After almost 48 hours I finally received a call from I believe it was his case manager who did not really introduce herself. She asked questions and only half listened to my families concerns and kept interrupting us when we were speaking with her. It seemed like she just wanted to get through her paperwork and really did not care. I am still waiting after 2 1/2 days to speak with his psychiatrist. They wanted to prescribe medication without consulting with me. I also have an advanced degree in medicine. Really unhappy with this place and would recommend sending your child or family member somewhere else for treatment.

As you can see there are many bad reviews on this place. It honestly depends on the experience. I volunteered myself here 2 times and each time I came out a better person. The medicine changing is annoying but the purpose (most of the time) is to find what works and what doesn't. If your contemplating going here just do it. See for yourself if this place helps you or not. It helped me.
