PROGRAMMATICALLY - what it teaches, and how that is delivered - they are stellar. Their "recovery soup" was an innovative approach, a real mixed bag, that combined elements of 12-step, SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery in way that was truly enlightening. Jimmy's classes in particular stand out to me; his teachings on how to achieve and live a sober life were both eye opening and transformational. But it is indeed a group effort by staff; the various classes and topics complement one another quite well. But there were definitely issues. The place itself - while physically wonderful - suffered from an appalling lack of support staff, who were almost to-a-one overworked and stretched waaaay too thin. It is not at all a smooth, well-run operation; in fact, they are depressingly inept with smaller issues. For example, incoming packages get lost, messages are not delivered, and promises are not kept. However the meals - for that matter the whole dining experience - was really top-of-the-line. Full props Steve, Antonetta, et al.The individual counseling left much to be desired. If one is lucky he meets with a counselor once a week for an hour, and much of that time is spent frantically attending to outside duties on one's cell phone or laptop (this is the only time one gets to use one's electronics). My therapist Deana pretty much dropped the ball as soon as she discovered I wasn't willing to do an inpatient IOP (Intensive Outpatient) there; I recieved no further direction, no referrals (which I asked been requesting for the five+ weeks i was there), no lists of meetings. The truth is, I signed some papers and left. Not to worry, I am getting everything I need on my own at home now. But that part was disappointing, to say the least.Yet even with the aforementioned caveats, I would definitely recommend RVCH. Like I said, the crux of it all - teaching skills and knowledge to guide and help one to live a successful sober life - is done better there than any other facility I have ever encountered (and, ugh, I have been to many!) And the people I met there. the other residents, were overall just wonderful. We have formed a tight knit and supportive outside group that has been my strength since leaving a couple weeks ago.Come to RVCH, I say, It is far from perfect, but WONDERFUL in the matters that REALLY count. I checked myself into Recovery Village solely for the detox program. The facility is beautiful, very clean and well kept. The nursing staff in detox were all very kind and gentle with their patients. Melissa, one of the nurses was absolutely wonderful, she made my uncomfortable days comfortable, which I was very grateful for. The BHT Shannon deserves 5 stars all around. She was the sweetest, most comforting, understanding staff member in this facility. I will remember her forever, and I’m forever grateful for her.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!! I have never seen a medical establishment or business for that matter operate like this. From the BHT to the top Director. Probably cause there is no Director. No one was accountable for anything and many people while I stayed, Fell threw the Cracks. They have a lot of them. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else!

The staff was very helpful and friendly even though they seemed over worked. The food is great and the counselors really care about your recovery. Thank you Destiny for everything

I was at the residential program for 14 days and have to say it was an absolutely horrible experience. The group and the community was great, but if you plan to have clinical therapy or clinicians meet with you? Good luck. Most of the employees have quit and the staff is low “because of covid” , there was no psychiatric help or one on one therapy. It was wake up, group therapy, then more group therapy, then group therapy, then sleep. There are no Tv’s in your room. Even the phones don’t work, you have to rely on the nurse’s landlines. It was my birthday while I was in the facility and my family brought me chocolates, I never received them. My family and fiancé had called multiple times to check on my progress and me in general and nobody was ever there to accept the call. On the policy handbook it specifically states “one family therapy session a week” I didn’t receive any. It was an ongoing theme with not only me but other patients as well who were under the impression they’d relieve clinical therapy, family therapy, and one on one sessions but didn’t. There was a worker there who said herself that her brother was having substance abuse issues and this is the last place she’d send him. That says enough in my opinion.
