Can my employer find out I am in detox if I use my insurance?
The HIPPA Privacy Rule protect your medical records and other personal health information. You are not obligated to inform your employer about entering detox. If you choose to utilize short term disability benefits or request a leave of absence, your employer may request paperwork from the facility. You cannot be terminated or discriminated against for seeking help for alcoholism or substance abuse treatment. Tom S5 StarEveryone here was great. I spent a week there and from the beginning everyone was there for anything I needed and understood my needs. It was my first time at a detox center but was completely opposite of the horror stories that others had told me about their experiences at other places. Scott Dionne5 StarThis is my experience with Detox, in the 90's I went to no less than 5 clinical detox's, after multiple years of recovery, I found myself in several area (South Georgia) medical detox.
When United Health and Wellness told me each person was handled on a case by case basis, I did not believe them, as all places make that claim. I was very wrong. The first thing that hit me was the comfort and privacy. After a few days of clearing my head, I realized the staff to patient ratio was outstanding. Many helping hands.
I believe the staff wants everyone to have access to recovery no matter where they go to start their journey. I NEVER got the feeling I was just a number. I have had that experience in other "institutions" and all claim to care. United Health and Wellness proved it to me.
They have a few things to work out through training, not worth mentioning here. I believe they have established themselves, in my mind, as the premier place to start a journey back to health for the individual and the family.

Corinne Earl1 StarThe check in process needs improvement. Facility says 24 hour, however we were told we checked in after 5 and that’s “after hours.” Thus the confusion and disconnect. Unacceptable. The communication with loved ones or family members is completely lacking. Then the IOP following release is false advertising. Meetings are cut short and canceled or rescheduled. The therapist and speakers are not motivational enough. Overall we feel disappointed, especially for the amount we paid for this “detox and wellness”. Not worth it.Sunday 16th January 2022
