Our 50-bed, state-of-the-art acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital is dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced a variety of conditions including:
UH Rehabilitation Hospital provides acute inpatient medical and functional rehabilitation. We offer patients three hours of therapy per day, five days a week.
Outpatient services for individuals with conditions that do not require inpatient rehabilitation care are available at several convenient community locations.

Multidisciplinary Team Develops Individual Treatment Plans
A physiatrist, a doctor who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation, will lead the clinical team in developing an individual treatment plan to meet the needs of each patient and family. Internal medicine physicians are also available to provide medical consultation and management to oversee the medical needs of each individual patient. In addition to physicians, therapists and nurses, there will be a case manager available to assist each patient with length of stay management and discharge planning.
Each patient’s treatment team will be uniquely tailored to meet his or her needs, and may also include a combination of the following specialists:
Helping Patients Smoothly Transition back to Community
UH Rehabilitation Hospital offers a transition to community (TTC) apartment that assists in preparing patients, families and caregivers for a safe community re-entry. Our TTC apartment is a home-like environment inclusive of a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and features that are normally found within a home.
The goal is to facilitate a well-prepared return-to-community that increases the patient’s safety while reducing anxiety, risk for re-injury and future hospitalizations.

Halle D2 StarThe therapy is very good.. But, instead of providing enough therapy to really have the patient able to function, they provide no more than about 14 days, then you are discharged ready or not. The length of stay is determined at intake, not by patient need. Again, the therapy received is very good, it's just not necessarily enough to take help the patient.Friday 4th March 2022

Amber Bonilla1 StarMy husband 42 years old was dying from liver failure but we were working towards getting him placed on the transplant list. After his long stay with remarkable care at UH Hospital Cleveland I thought he was in good hands here at another UH facility …. I was wrong!
The doctors there changed medications that were prescribed by a liver specialist! They acted as though they were more knowledgeable than the specialist. He was on a low sodium diet but they prescribed him sodium tablets. When I questioned the change and if his team of liver doctors approved it, they were annoyed by me questioning them and acted as though my question was dumb! His liver doctors were very unhappy with them doing this that they called the rehab facility and informed them of their negligence. His health got worse while staying there day by day. They sent him home on the 14th day and by the 16th day we were back in the hospital in Cleveland.
I had to wait to make sure he received doses of medication at the correct time because my husband was mentally unaware of what was going on and couldn’t remind them himself.
The sad part is the therapist are remarkable at what they do but the doctors and nurses are going to kill people the way this rehabilitation hospital is ran. My husband had a loud advocate by his side … I worry about those who can’t advocate for themselves or don’t have someone there to do so! I would’ve rather taken care of him at home.Friday 4th March 2022
Tanya Jones5 StarMy experience at Uh Rehab has been PERFECT. After having Spinal Surgery and not being able to stand nor walk I decided to go to rehab center verse going home and Therapist coming to my house. From first day in through to discharge. First time in Night staff was polite, caring and attentive to my needs, room was nice and clean, unit was quiet which helped with resting. Next day staff again was attentive and explained clearly the rehab plan to get me back to walking and being independent by myself. Therapy sessions and Occupational therapy was also excellent , I had one on one session as well as group session, these were fun and almost easy to do with so much help from staff. Staff learned your name, your needs, and your abilities and always worked towards goals to benefit you. Nursing and STNA were very attentive to each patients needs, and were always quick to assist when called. I even have very friendly and caring talks, and help with the Doctors, Case Managers, and entire staff.
I would recommend this facility to anyone who may need rehab, this is the place to get that caring, attentive, and family feeling, you truely feel the love from the staff and the clean facility.Friday 18th March 2022
