Physical therapy at Vulcan was one of the greatest decisions. I started around November and finished about a week ago. Back during my first appointments, I could barely lift a thing and was always in so much pain. Claire took her time and worked with me to regain my strength and create a very positive environment. By March, I was lifting significantly more and could get back into the gym without any trouble. She helped me regain the confidence that I lost with my initial injury. I had an amazing time getting through my workouts and everyone inside was always the sweetest!

Vulcan performance exceeded all of my physical therapy needs. After completing therapy for 6 weeks elsewhere, I called Sean in tears with no progress and frustrated. He assured me he could help me. I had a partial meniscectomy for a torn meniscus. After 6 weeks of failed therapy, a friend recommended Vulcan performance. It was hands down the best phone call/decision I’ve ever made in my rehab journey. Before I went, I wasn’t able to continue my workouts that I had been doing months prior to my injury, I hardly had any range of motion bc of swelling and weakness and couldn’t get up a flight of stairs without pain! After completing my rehab at Vulcan performance, I now have zero swelling, full range of motion and have no pain walking up stairs. Oh! And I’m back in the gym 5-6 days a week and can even run! Words i thought I would never say. My rehab experience was a combination of blood flow restriction And strength training! I have sent several friends to them already and Would send you! If you sound like me or have any physical therapy needs, I can’t urge you enough to give Vulcan performance a shot!

Before working with Sean, my hip injury caused me a great deal of pain along with loud popping in my hip which prevented me from fully participating in my college athletic practices and workouts. I was limited to my activities and even sleeping and walking to class were difficult some days. On my first visit with Sean, he sat down with me and thoroughly evaluated my symptoms and pain level. On my next visits he had me working my hip dynamically and doing things that I would do specifically in my sport of pole vault. He also sent me home with exercises to do at home. After my last appointment with Sean, I was able to compete with no pain and get a personal record. I was also pain free after the meet and am looking forward to a successful pain-free season thanks to Sean and his individualized physical therapy techniques. The whole staff at Vulcan Performance was professional, caring, and always have their patients’ best interests at heart.

I started working with Sean Oct. 2021 at Vulcan Performance. I came to Sean as a last resort as I had recently been told by an orthopedic surgeon that I needed a full hip replacement on my right side. The reason the Dr recommended it was because I had osteoarthritis in my right hip and pretty much all cartilage had been worn down. In addition, I had Femoral Acetabular Impingement, and a CAM Deformity on the outer side of my ball and socket joint. With all these issues, I had gotten to the point that I was in so much pain that I wasn’t able to run anymore. Really, any high impact exercises bothered it and even sitting for long periods of time. For about 88 months, I had tried rest, Ice, and taking anti-inflammatories, but nothing worked. When I was told, the only answer was hip replacement surgery (at 39 years old), I was devastated and willing to try any alternative therapy to see if I could avoid it. That was when I was referred by a friend of mine who was also a client of Sean’s who had been told something similar and said I should book an appointment with him. Sean and I worked together for about 5 months. The things he did that helped me improve the most were BFR (blood flow restriction) therapy as well as many different hip/glute strengthening/ROM exercises. Slowly but surely my Range of Motion and hip strength started to improve and this in turn led to a decrease in pain during activity and at rest. After 3 months of training with him, I was back running again and now, I’m able to run paces similar to what I ran before I had gotten to the point that I couldn’t run and I can do it with NO PAIN!. In addition, there really isn’t any exercise that I can’t do that bothers my hip anymore. I am so incredibly grateful for Sean and the rehab training he did with me. If I wouldn’t have gone, I would be recovering from hip replacement surgery right now. Instead, I’m back to running 4-5 days a week! I highly recommend anyone who has a long history of training and exercise with joint or musculoskeletal issues to see Sean prior to having any kind of replacement surgery. You really have nothing to lose, and you just might get to preserve your body and your quality of life a little longer!

About seven weeks ago, I got a viral infection that altered my coordination, balance, and equilibrium. It affected my entire vestibular system. I was extremely dizzy and extremely nauseated almost all of the time. I threw up a few times, I had little to no appetite, and I was fatigued almost all of the time. All of my previous activities of daily living that would have taken little to no thought or effort were either nonexistent or extremely hard for me to do. I was unable to walk on my own or without assistance without getting extremely sick. I could not drive, write, or work. I did not have the energy to stand up in the shower, put on makeup, or do laundry. I was dependent on just about everything! Although I was very diligent to do vestibular exercises on my own and at home, I knew I needed something more. That is when I started therapy at Vulcan Performance. They not only helped me with my vestibular therapy, but they also helped me with my physical therapy. They helped me relearn all of my normal activities of daily living. I am so grateful that my dizziness is now at about a zero to one at baseline. When I started physical therapy, my dizziness was at about a seven to an eight at baseline. I now have to work very hard to even stimulate my dizziness and other symptoms. Vulcan Performance tailored to my individual needs such as changing positions (sitting down to standing up or laying down to standing up) and head movements (up and down and to the right and left). They helped me with eye movements, balance, elevation changes, and lifting objects above my head. They helped me improve my hand- eye coordination, and they helped me learn to walk in a straight line and run. I have now started to drive again, I have a full appetite, I can write again, and I can walk normally again. I feel like myself again. I am so grateful that even on the days I could not physically come to the clinic, they gave me workouts and exercises to do on my own at home. This helped speed up my recovery process. Every single time I went to Vulcan Performance, I had significant improvement in my vestibular therapy and physical therapy. I am so grateful that Vulcan Performance did not let me get complacent and stay where I was. They pushed me, challenged me, supported me, and encouraged me every step of the way. The whole entire staff was the brightest spot in my day every single time I came into the clinic. Movement truly is medicine. I’m so grateful that I did therapy at Vulcan Performance, because sitting in bed all day and feeling sick was not getting me where I needed to go. I can’t wait to continue meeting my goals and getting back to normal life. I attribute my fast recovery to Vulcan Performance, and I am so thankful for the whole team at Vulcan and how they helped me!
